Just curious if anyone figured this out? I have an 02 SE and like someone else pointed out, it is much more profound during the cold season. From what I can tell all bushings seem to be ok. I replaced my sway bar end links last year and my struts the year before. It's definitely somewhere in the front passenger side. Sometimes I swear the whole wheel is gonna come off.

The best thing to do is to take the wheel off and start looking.

I have. Like everyone else here everything looks fine. I'm tempted to let a shop look at it but I have my doubts that they would find it either.

My 97 coupe started this knocking thing a month or so ago. I finally had enough and looked into it and after reading this thread, the following is what I found/did.

My knock was coming from the front driver side. I started with jacking up the car. Wiggled the tire back and forth to check for bearing play. None.

Removed tire and lowered car onto jackstand. Next I "loade" the suspension by using the jack to lift from the lower control arm (A arm?). Once that was done, I started wiggling things to find the source. Mine was the upper ball joint. Once I wiggled that part, it was clear as day that that was the source. It WILL NOT show the play with the suspension unloaded.

I have Skunk2 upper control arms/ball joints. So I just ordered a new one from ebay for 35 bucks!!

Hope this helps someone!

Thanks again HT!

I also have a similar problem. I swapped my D16 out with a B18 on my 95 civic and ever since, I cant drive more then 5 mph without a constant bumping, grinding, rattling sound. Replaced all the ball joints and the tie rod ends and still cant figure it out. Any help would be appreciated!!

Default annoying noise in front end

2001 Honda Accord - please help identity the problem

To try to eliminate the noise, we tried replacing struts, sway bar links, and general lubrication. NONE worked!

A noise in a car can travel in strange ways - are you sure it is not from the rear?

What in the front has been inspected? Can you reproduce the noise by pushing down/up on the corners of the car, at each wheel.

Do you live where rust is an issue? Many of the 6th gen accords had an issue with the front sub frame rusting out on the pass side....about where the ac drain tube is.

Yes, the sound can be produced by pushing on the hood near both front tires. Yes, we live in Ohio where rust can be a factor. SUGGESTIONS PLEASE

Did you inspect the sub frame?

Sounds like lower control arm bushings are busted and squeaking.

Did your car pop when you pushed the brakes or turning a corner?

1995 Honda Civic coupe
Hello I need help ASAP I've been hearing clicking noses from the front of my suspension I have change SHOCKS WITH COIL OVERS, CV AXLES, UPPER CONTROL ARM WITH BALL JOINTS, LOWER BALL JOINTS, INNER AND OUTER TIERODS. And still having clicking nose when I pass through small bump. They told me it can be my lower control arms or my rack and pinion and I said there is no way they can be it because 1 I have no leaks on my rack and when I move my lower control arm there is no play. Has anyone had this problem and fix it. OR CAN THEY BE THE SWAY BAR link or BUSHING.

I thought it was cv axles/half shafts (whatever you boys wanna call em). So i went out, spent the money, replaced them, and thats not the issue. My only guess now is a sway bar mount or absolutely shot wheel bearings. Or a blown shock. Not sure 🤷*♂️

i had the same problem yesterday after getting back from midas for tune up. I found out it was the upper control arm hitting the top of my wheel well. I raised it about an inch and no more knocking.
