Honda Lifetime Seat Belt Limited Warranty
I just read an article and it says something about a "Honda Lifetime Seat Belt Limited Warranty"
Could i just bring my 4th gen prelude to a dealer and have them replaced?
Has anyone got their seatbelts replaced?

yeah. you dont need any 'papers' or anything. just go up there and tell them that your seatbelts dont retract anymore, and they should order you some and install them for you

Replced for freyed belts or broken buckles....Call Honda and make an appointment. They may try to charge you a Diagnostic fee depending on the dealer.

no that is bs..
think about it, why would the state allow someone to sell salvage titles without the car having the BASIC safety equipment on a car?

My car is clear titled though it has incorrect mileage, would it still work as Clean Titled?
I scheduled an appointment for Monday.
Through your experiences how long did it take you guys to get them replaced? I cant leave my car over night because its my only transportation
BTW thanks for the input guys

But only for like normal wear and tear.
IE if you've worn a rip through it (not cut/etc) then it can be replaced for free.
If the retractor no longer works, it's free.
It has to be safety related they won't do it if they're just stained.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Just did one today EF 91 Hatch $300 seatbelt for free
Retractor wasn't efficient enough

I've had belts replaced on 2 different ludes now, and it couldn't be any more hassle free. I say "my belt is frayed and I can't pass inspection", they go take a look at it, then schedule a service appointment. Takes about 2-3 hours for them to install it.

Yea, I can also vouch for this service. I had an Accord with a seat belt that wouldn't come out sometimes and they replaced it free of charge. The only reason they would charge you a Diagnostic fee is if they found that you were at fault ie: you jammed a penny in there or something. Other than that, they should not charge you a Diagnostic fee.

2-3 hours? i remember calling a dealership close to my house 6 months ago asking about this and the guy told me to be prepared to drop off my car and pick it up the next day.

Re: (ethereal2pt2)
I had same-day service both times, but YMMV depending on how busy your dealership is. They do have to take off quite a bit of the interior on whatever side the belt is on.

Re: (95greenlude)
i went to the dealer today at 8AM...the workers were friendly but they checked my VIN and said "nothing showed up for recalls" and sent me on my way back..

Re: (BB1LOViN)
Do you mean recall on your seat belts? I have always thought that if you were having any issues with the seat belts that would compromise safety, just tell the dealership and they would correct the issue for free, assuming that you haven't in any ways shape or form tampered with the belts.

Try print this out and bring it to the dealer. Scroll to the second page in the doc for the seat belt info.

Re: (JT)
What to expect when getting seatbelt retractor replaced:
- Setting up an appointment for the retractor to be looked at
- If belt is frayed or torn that is not covered
- They will simply grab your stomach belt tug on it and see how fast or slow it retracts then they will do the same thing for the shoulder belt and possibly when door open a tug down to the ground and see if it retracts. If it past these 3 tests then expect them not to replace it
- About a 1-2 day wait if they don't have the seatbelt/retractor in stock the nearest Region Warehouse will carry it so not too far away
- 1-2 hour wait for install
- They will need your old seatbelt obviously honda must have it in order to get there money back. Goes back to Regional Warehouse and is obviously recorded down on your cars history.

how bad exactly do your retractors have to be to be replaced? I've recently noticed my retractors becoming weaker. The belt retracts about half way and the other half I have to manually pull into it. New ones sure would be nice though
