I am towing from Texas. I think total time from Texas to VIR is about 18 hours. Too much for me to do in one day. I can do Texas to Nashville in a day and Nashville to VIR.

OR

I can do I-20 to the Atlanta area in 12 hours and then ATL to VIR next day.

Anyone from West coast want to join up ??

Also, I'll see if this plan coincides with any of the MW or SE caravans.

Not to get all sappy... but I really miss you guys. There are some cool people I met in Texas (really cool), but I miss R-speed, NYC, VIR, Summit, the Glen, the Rock... I can go on and on.... can't wait to come out in June.

I may be able to do Johnson City... it is about 14 hours.

LOL , for that to happen we would have to make incredible time. More than likely we will not get to Knoxville until 10 or 11pm.

David, I am sure the Cali and other guys will chime in but preliminary thoughts were to meet up with our MW caravan in TN somewhere.

David, where is Murphy? I've driven both ways before, and the southern route may be easier to tow, but timewise, I'm not sure.

I'm spamming this shit but oh well.

If you plan on meeting at my place for a bbq before heading out to VIR please PM me. I will have some room available if you'd like to save some money versus getting a hotel here in town.

Haven't thought that far ahead yet Pat. I'm going to try hard to get Cliff there for a day.

Yeah, towing on the Southern route would seem to be easier. I think I-20 to I-85.

I once drove I-40 over the mountains from Tennessee to North Carolina and it was very, very hilly.

Yep, once you get near the TN/NC border, 40 gets hilly. Black Mtn. can't be fun with a trailer.

Cut onto 26 in Asheville and head up to Johnson City. It's up hill with turns, but its wide, not a lot of traffic, and acceptable to putz when heading north with a trailor. Probably a little over an hour from Ash to JC with a trailor so you'd save time instead of taking 40 to 81. 26 meets up with 81 about 10 minutes away from me. I'm 45 minutes from Ash by way of 26 if going the speed limit.

David,

I'm right below Nashville and I plan on going to Aquafinas. If these become your plans let me know, and I will make sure I join you/your group in Nashville on the way to Johnson City.

David, were you going to swing out to Tyler that Friday night so we can load up? We can leave my place early in the AM Saturday.

The family is going to sit out on this one.

Yup, just as we discussed. Either that Friday or early that Sat morning. I'll reserve the hotel(s).

THE DUDE, are you trailering from Dallas? If so, are you taking I-30 to I-40 or I-20 to ATL? David and I will be shooting up 271 and end up in Mt Pleasant/I-30. Then take that up to I-40.
