Default Garret T3 .44/.53 right size for d15?

Hi,

I'm fairly new to all the turbo stuff, but did a lot of reading and i think i have the basics down.
This week i came across a deal for a turbo that i couldn't turn down (even though i'm not sure it it's right)

The turbo in question is a Garret T3 with a a/r of .53 on the compressor and .44 on the turbine side.
This is going on a d15z6 and i am aiming at about 220 hp, and full boost at about 3500 rpm.

Could any of you help me and tell me if this would be a correct size or if i should look for something different?

Thanks!

The info you have given is worthless. You need to measure the wheels and post plenty of pics and give any part numbers that are on the center section.

Yes, that turbo in good working condition should meet your goals.
All other comments are worthless.

If that is oil on the exhaust side it looks like that turbo is ready for a rebuild. From the size of the turbo it looks like a unit that will support 200 hp at the crank and that is it. I would look for a different turbo. Honestly if you are looking for 220whp you need a a turbo that flows around 30lbs a minute. That turbo should be in the 20-22 lbs a minute range.

I would find another turbo that has some more common flanges you can just order for your build.

hmm ok thanks for the answer.
Yeah the "triangle" shaped flange is really a big minus on this turbo.
I got this one for almost free so that's why i want to try it with this one.
But if it wouldn't work i'll be looking around for more options...
Before the turbo goes on the d15, the d15 should have about 140/150, that's why i thougth this would be big enough to hit the 220 mark.

Turbodano, you have any recommadations (sp?) on a good replacer?

Well there are a lot of good turbos out there we have a good selection or if you are looking for a good used unit i would look for a EVO 3 16g that would do what you are looking for.

watch out for Chineese knock offs of the 16g they are not worth a dang. Just make sure you get a original Mitsubishi 16g.
