Default gas pedal throttle???

i have a 96 ex with a jdm b16 sir 2...and for some reason....it has a click in it..so wen i try to press the gas pedal in gear it clicks and gives too much throttle and bogs..i dont know if it had this problem when it had a d16 because i bought it a shell with the pedals already there..wen i did the b16 swap..was i suppose to use anything from the ex from the pedals to the throttle..im really confused..i dont really know how to explain that click..its like..if i just touch the pedal..it doesnt do anything..n if u press it a lil harder it jus moves too much..(too much throttle) please help..tia!!

Is there slippage between the cable and the pulley at the throttle body? Sounds like maybe something could be pulling loose. Try watching it while someone gives it gas from the cockpit and see if any thing is visually off...

Something else I've seen is when a connector isn't wired right for a throttle sensor, the ECU will get "confused" and think you're at full throttle when you're idling and vice-versa.

What I meant was, is it possible that the throttle pulley and spring are slipping away from each other at the "click?"

The different things that may be affecting your throttle response in that way are your pulley, spring, cable and attachment points. You may also double check the TPS and/or other sensors on your particular throttle body.

If it's not any of that, I guess we're both stumped. One of the reasons I refuse to buy a JDM engine. Just seems like there are too many interchangeability questions.

A B16 is a B16 I don't care where its from. I don't quite understand your question though, can you elaborate a little more?

Not really, but OK.

Sounds like not enough homework was done before the swap. A friend of mine has a JDM B16 in a 93 DX and had to get a new/different throttle cable(amongst other random parts) because the original was too short and the throttle end wouldn't fit correctly. That or the B16 has a driveability issue that isn't being explained right.

Besides the pistons between 92-95 B16A's, and 88-91/96-00 B16A's, slightly different cam profiles umongst different gen's, and JDM engines lacking knock sensors, how are the "Longblocks" any different? Little stuff doesn't matter. Anyone can fab a throttle cable bracket.

Regardless, a better explanation of what the car is doing would help.

its really hard to explain... when the gas pedal is untouched..and then u slightly tap it..its stiff....then u push a lil more it gives a tad bit too much throttle responce i guesS? and that causes a bog because of too much gass for asmooth take off..is that better?/ im really soorry..i really cant explain it well

EDIT: i also searched and couldnt find anything clear...some say jdm throttle is different from usdm..and some say they are the same..so im confused...

would i have any conflict having a 96ex throttle cable with a 95 jdm b16?
