Fixed.

And yes, it will stay AWD. That's the whole reason I bought the wagon!

Yeah, at this point I'm thinking I'm actually just going to build a monster d-series instead of a f2d.

Yeah, I changed my mind; I'm doing the first h2d awd wagon swap. The project will start in about a month. If it breaks, it breaks and then I'll be the first to convert a awd wagon to rwd with an f20c!

Sorry for the delay on updates. We've been super busy at the shop. We finally pulled the engine apart to check out the knocking noise. It wasn't a bearing. It was a bent rod hitting the cylinder wall. When we pulled the head we noticed that none of the pistons came all the way up to TDC. It seems all the rods were bent. I'm pretty sure they were like that for a while and then one just let go. Other than that the engine is in amazing shape for what its been through. All the pistons were fine, no bearing or sleeve problems. We put a new block in with Eagle rods and Wiseco pistons. We are going to install a larger turbo and intercooler next.

thats what good tuning does, cant make ur motor physically stronger but will take you there without combustion problems.

Hi I saw your video on Youtube and I have decided to do the same conversion to my 1991 civic 1.4 GL UK model. I have bought a 1988 Civic Shuttle 4wd manual five speed UK model so that I can take its 1.6 engine, transmission and 4wd system.

I understand how to change the wiring loom and fit the engine. But I five questions for you:

1. How do you get the transmission to operate in 4WD the whole time and not just in 1st gear? I want to have 4wd on my car permanent through all of the gears.

2. I am also intending to use the bar linkage gear shifters of my civic hatchback, not the cable gear shifters currently fitted to the Shuttle. I have performed the swap from cable to bar linkage on a 1998 ek civic can I do the reverse to my car ?

3. What dimensions does the rear axle mounting bracket have ?

4. How did you find the correct position for the mounting points of the viscous coupling ?

5. How did you mount the rear subframe ?

I would really grateful for a reply, as I intend the do the conversion in the next couple of weeks.

thanks

instead of cracked sleeves and melted pistons, you just have bent rods

This was an awesome thread to read. Keep up the good work with the D's. I have seen bent rods before but not all 4 thats nuts. I am glad now that I kept the 3 d16z6 engines I am going to have to do something with them soon.
