LoJack Recovery System for 2007 Honda Accord LX
Hi Guys,
I am getting a new 2007 Honda Accord LX soon. The car comes with an installed Anti-Theft Via Engine Immobilizer. My question is if it's a good idea to get LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System in addition to it. What do you think? Thank you.

The immobilizer provides minimal protection... lowjack is good stuff. Let me know which version you are getting and I will let you know approx cost on it so you can negotiate better.

Thanks so much for your advice, guys! I am thinking about LoJack Early Warning Recovery System. I was told the cost is standard… $995 (vs the base “LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System” for $695). Does the cost vary?..
Also, does the "Early Warning" option come with a 2-yr limited warranty? From what I understood, you need to buy a special "Extended Recovery Warranty" in order to have their coverage for as long as you own your vehicle...

Hummm. lo-jack ews with its factory install And the price. All right. I would use it as a layer only. For the best bang for the buck would be to have a gps tracking unit installed. And have it done with a stealth install. And the price would be the same. Lo-jack installs are poor and really bad. All a theif is going to do is break the car down in your driveway or right around the corner and unplug it. With a gps unit installed right there is no way to break it down. And you gethe same features as lojack and best of all you know right were the car is.

^^^^ Agreed...
Plus, you don't have to worry about whether or not you're within LoJack's limited coverage area... http://www.lojack.com/pdf/Coverage_Apr%2007.pdf

if you're interested in a gps system, you may want to look into guidepoint systems (http://www.guidepointsystems.com/index.shtml). the honda dealership i bought my 07 from offered it as an alternative to lojack for $100 more.

That unit sucks as well. It plugs right in under the dash.

I am sorry I did not get exactly what you mean... I am a novice here. What's the best way to install LoJack and through whom/where? From your post I understood so that it has to be done with a stealth install. The dealer I am getting the car from mentioned the LoJack option. If I am not getting it there, where else? Many thanks

I would ask them for pictures of previous installs...
Especially since dealers are friggin' liars most of the time, and will tell you what you want to hear in order to make a sale...

What's the best way to go about it then? Excuse my ignorance but I just have never had to deal with this before. Where else can I get?..

Re: LoJack Recovery System for 2007 Honda Accord LX (Mint01)
Yea, its stealth in stalled. It hidden behind the plastic pannel. So stealth that you just rip out the plastic pannel and unplug it. Its stands out so badly. If you can see the brain its not stealth. If you can notice it its not stealth. I would post pictures of a couple units that I found and were they located but that would help the theives that are lukering on here and make the lo-jack situration even worse. You can get the unit but use it as a layer to a well planed out alarm system and gps unit. I use lo-jack but relocated my unit to how it should of been installed.

Lo-jack, what a joke around here. I like the concept, but there are only certain areas where it works. Once they get that car down to mexico, its gone, forever.
