The biggest OEM Honda brake upgrade ever - Custom mounted Acura RL calipers

It would probably benefit you to jump to a forged 16" wheel, 17" if possible, and an 18"
if you can stand the harsh ride. This will give you a lighter wheel/tire combo, reducing rotational mass and allow you to use a wider tire, and given that you are putting out 450+, id try and get a 235 or wider to put all that power to the ground. For a car with that much power, I bet you can easily break 150mph, and at that speed, that little nissan caliper may not take it. Also, Id reccomend going to a blank rotor. That drilled one is just reducing your surface area and making your 60-0 distances longer, as noted here:

The drilled rotors came with the and were the only option. I think I'll stick with 225 tires because 235's will require body work that will also require getting my car re-inspecting because of a width change. That's just way too much money and running it without the re-inspection can get even more expensive if I get stopped by the JDM popos! The wheels I own are somewhat rare so I'd like to use them.
Thanks for the replies ! Guess I'll ditch this kit and try to find a used Spoon setup on Yahoo Japan.

If you want, I have an S2000 brake setup if your 15s are a racing style (forged and thin rims.)

This is an 11.8" rotor on a Civic DX knuckle and the RL calipers fitted with my custom bracket. If anyone is interested, all you have to do with the bracket, caliper, and rotors is get a pair of Civic DX knuckles from a 92-95 Civic (with ABS if yours has it so the Si with the 9.5" fronts) and you're set!
</TD></TR></TABLE>
Your meaning thats what we have to do with our tegs? What about us guys w/ABS in the GSR's?
Also, when will you have pics of this mounted on a car?

I would imagine the std. ITR brake upgrade. It works on 15" wheels and it's a very good setup.

i dont like big rims so i dont rock them, im 15' to 16' type of guy. i have rota subzeros 15' and im buying rota slipstream 16'. you have any brake set-ups for a integra of those rim sizes?

Re: (Mfoehrkolb)
I dont understand "rocking" rims. Big wheels are for the lower weight and stiffer sidewall of a lower profile tire, its a performance thing. I do have brake setups for those, your 16s could fit the Type-R 11" brakes or the S2000 front setup in 4x100 form.
This brake upgrade is not meant for 15" wheels. If you have wheels that small, you wouldn't make use of it.

When I say 15s won't make use of this, it means this is a very powerful brake setup. If you have 15s on your car, it means that either you are running a big profile tire, so its probably not that wide and isnt a race car (cause big profile tires are for road cars), or if the 15" has low profile tires, then its total diameter would mean its an older, usually lighter weight car. A light car like a CRX...this would be too much braking, it doesn't need the heat capacity of this rotor and would be better off with S2000 brakes, since it probably wont be able to fade those either, and is a lighter setup.

does it have to be a dx nuckles, i have gsr im only looking for calipers that fits 15/7 and welds racing wheel slicks fronts 15/9 and 225/50/15 bfg tires. Im having little brake problem at high miles per hours at the strip need to stop faster.

Re: (BrakeExpert)
i bet i would make use of those brakes with my 15" rims i have a street car that will be pushing over 400 to the ground. if i go with lower profile tires that's great for a road course. but if im dragging low profile tires are crap and for having bigger rims to save weight with low profile tires. most of the time bigger rims means more weight. the tires may weigh less but the extra mass of metal usually ends up being heavier. so what is the best stoppers for 15" rims the prelude rotor legend brake combo?

Re: (BrakeExpert)
Does that includes rotors, caliper, and pads?
And will that be all you need? can i bolt it right up to my GSR? Or do i need a bigger Master Cylinder?

That includes the rotors, calipers, pads, and brake lines.
This will bolt upto your GSR, and since you already have a 1" master cylinder, you will not need a bigger one. This would be all you need.
Grundle, the best brakes to fit under your 15s would be the 11" redrilled prelude rotors and Legend calipers with the milled brackets. If you need these parts or the machine work done, PM me.
kermit, to use the 11.8" rotor and the RL calipers, it would have to be the DX knuckle. on an EX knuckle, the smallest rotor it can clear is 12.3" and thats with a little caliper modification. The EX knuckle can bolt on a 12.6" rotor (or bigger) the way it is, thats just cause of the RL caliper's size.
