ok you see that black stripe that is in the INSIDE of the metal track? now my passenger window has that and my driver side window doesnt, its just the metal track no rubber piece inside. now im guessing that is why my driver side window keeps coming off track every single time i put it down?

My EK does this every once in a while. The plastic guides need to be replaced. If anyone has this problem you can relate to on how much you wanna shoot your door off with a bazoooka everytime you hear that "clunk" when your window comes of track. I also found that bending the metal (left side)that holds the plastic a TAD using a long wrench or screwdriver. That way it doesn't slip out as easily.

This is a fantastic write up. There needs to be a How To section of HT were stuff like this can be categorized by car and remain permanent. Unfortunately it was way too cold and the glass place only charged me $50 for 45 minutes, two cup of coffee, and staying warm. Ha ha, if it had been warmed that week I would have done this.

Only thing is you don't show where to pop the clips off inside the panel. Thats the step i'm stuck on. Cause I don't want to damage the paint or hurt my door. I know there are 6 clips two on the side, 3 on the bottom , and one in the front.
if you are taking about the clips that hold the whole panel to the door, just feel for where the clips are and give it a nice tug and it should pop off. That's what I did at least

Awesome write-up. This happened to my SI last week going through Burger King. To make things worse, I was in the process of moving so had no time to really sit down and look at it. Luckily I had a garage, my fiancé's Integra, and Honda-Tech to help me out.
I tackled the project yesterday when the weather was nice. Once I got the door panel off, I found my window slid out of the track on the front only. I Loosened the 2 gold track bolts and jiggled the window back into place. I got some silicone spray like was mentioned and lubed it up. Did a test and works great again. The hardest part was getting the damn panel to go back on properly. The speaker magnet has a tendency to attract to the door so watch out for that.

lol. I just bought my 97 DX Hatch yesterday. It's 3am now, just drove home, it's really foggy and starting to sprinkle and my window fell of track. I'm too lazy to fix it now, so I just left it as far up as it'll go (about 2/3 the way up.) That means the inside of my car is probally going to be wet tomorrow. lol. Lame.

Good write up though! :D

BTW: I've never had to take the handle off manual windows before. Is it hard to take the clip off with just a pair of needle nose pliars?
