Default For those of you wanting 8th Gen mufflers on yours 6th gen's.

*******VIDEO'S ARE UP!!!******* Rev/idle and Driving!!!

Well, finally I got my 07 si muffler it arrived in clean condition, though I thought it needed a little touch-up and TLC. BTW, I got this for the look, and the fact that it had a straight through design and 2.25" inlet piping.

So, I got a car of semi-flat rust tough paint and got to masking.

Here it is masked up and sanded. Ready for paint.

Here it is after the 2nd coat.

And here's the finished product.

It's actually a very dark flat black.

And on to the sound clips. Before and after. The new muffler is silent at idle, and only make noise past ~4000 rpms. It sounds great while I'm driving. I also can tell that this muffler is not very restrictive, even on the ass dyno I couldn't tell a difference.

Okay, here are the videos.

Old

New

IMO, the videos don't do it justice, it sounds a lot better in person. My brother even thinks at lower RPM it sounds kind of like a g35's stock muffler does.

here it is driving.

Replacing some catback the original owner had purchased.

Is the piping the same diameter as the stock exhaust? I may seriously consider doing this, just looked and the parts cost about $200, not a bad price vs. aftermarket stuff.

I paid $100 shipped for mine from a guy here on h-t. Most of the 8th gen guys are letting the axlebacks go for about that.

See above. I looked in the 8th gen marketplace, in their tech forum.

No, muffler shop had to cut the piping at the muffler, and add on his own piece.

only cost me $40 for install, with two new hangers.
