Alright... After I got off work, I stopped by Discount Auto and scoped out the paint section.
I did indeed find the aircraft stripper stuff for like $6.xx, so I snagged it.
Came home (like 1 min away ) ate dinner, then went outside to try and fix my gigantic screw up.
before air craft stripper stuff:
After 10-15 mins:
I love it!
So, I came back inside and petted a cute kitten
The went back outside, loaded up the valve cover in the car and drove down to the car wash so I could use the high pressure hose to clean it up good.
Before:
After!
Look at all the paint that came off...
So, I'm back at square one Discount only had wrinkle black paint in stock, so I'm gonna call tomorrow and see if I can't get some on a truck so I can get it tomorrow and spray it at work on Wednesday, so it can cure all day in t3h sun.
Sound like a plan?
Now, I'm off to play some hAL0

Did you not let the letters dry up first when you tried to remove the paint over the lipstick?
While it was drying I went for a walk and pointed and laughed at a cat stuck in a tree.
J/K
I used engine oil for my letters.. I lightly rubbed engine oil on the letters, then spray painted. After all my coats and FULL drying, I just rubbed off the letters with my fingers and it came off ever so easy. And HA! I have a moon hole too

i like how it looks after the aircraft stripper. let it dry and put it back like that, be unique.
and about the letters, just sand it after the paint

one slight slip then it's like "OMFFFFFFFFFG I MESSED UP NO!!!!1ONE!1!1 " Especially since he's not using wrinkle.

Re: (mac_24_seven)
I remembered last night, to test fit my cam gears in my VC... To see how well my moon cut holes line up w/the gears....
They were lined up as straight as I could, in line w/where they will actually be when attached to the cams.
Keep in mind that the valve cover is sloped, thus why one gear is sitting farther in the VC than the other.. It'll be straight whenever the head gets bolted on
I'm very pleased
And they are Fidanza cam gears BTW

Re: (BrokeA$$Pinoy)
I don't know if I have mentioned it, but I've lost/misplaced my spark plug cover thingy. I REALLY wanted one so I could paint evrything at one time, and make sure it's the same color/amount of coats and what not.
Well, I havn't been able to get ahold of one in time (or cheap enough anyway)
So......... What do I do?
I make my own!
This is the prototype... Stay tuned.. I'll finish it up today

Re: (95ProjectEJ1)
Very nice write up! I am interested in the paint stripper you bought because I want to get some rims back to stock alloy so I can repaint them a different color. The paint stripper you use, can it be found at any home/auto store? Will it have enough in one can to fully strip 4 wheels? and will it damage the tires in any way?
I noticed it didn't seem to affect the rims you sprayed with it earlier and am hoping there are no after effects.
I love the VC and the mooncuts. Look really good! Good luck with the rest of the job!
