Default A better alternator

Hi guys.

Six months ago I replaced my CB7's alternator with a 'lifetime rebuilt' from AutoZone. Well, it's dead again. The lifetime warranty is nice, except that I still have to deal with the breakdown, tow and replacement. A couple of questions:

1. Is there a stronger aftermarket unit out there?

2. Can this be caused by faulty grounds? I heard some crackling in the stereo a few hours before the battery went dead. Where are the grounds in the CB7?

Thanks.

Yes, they make high output alternators, there's a DIY floating around - either here or accordinglydone, where someone put in a high power alt
