Default fuel sending unit?

Today My needle was on E since lunch so i finally fill up and it was only 8.8 gal....? Then after the fill up it doesnt want to hit the F..its about 2 dots from F. This has been going on for a while but i see its getting worse, my fuel light never comes on either....could this be the fuel sending unit? If so, where is this thing and how much is it?

The sending unit should be part 31.

Perhaps it can be removed and inspected.

Mine use to do that too. I would bring it past E and just keep driving with it well below E and I never ran out of gas. I never tried fixing it tho, just lived with it.
