I got a gsr block and its knocking really damn bad.

I'm hoping the crank is fine. Other than that I'm replacing
the ROD with another set of GSR rods and B16 pistons
to yeild a higher compression of 11.4.

I probably will have to resleeve the block.
I need some advice in this area.
What are some good sleeves for the gsr block.

Also maybe just add some cams, maybe blox.
Just a little build on the motor, not much.

Any suggestion on the head?
Headgasket?

if you're resleeving, go big or go home, bore it out. golden eagle, benson, darton, take your pick.

depending on the head you use, wont gsr block and head with b16 pistons be more like 12:1 comp?

Your sleeves are probably o.k. Your crank is probably not o.k.
A simple build would be some Wiseco 11.5:1 81.5mm pistons on Eagle or IB rods-LS crank.
Clean, hot tank, bore and hone the block. New bearings, water and oil pumps.
Stock head gasket.

I'm really on a budget.
I'm really trying to get the motor running but at the same time if I can buy used pistons/rod/crank for cheaper than new gsr stuff for the block then I would.

IF I do bore the block. I'm guessing I can't use the b16 pistons?

Can the LS crank be used with the GSR rod and b16 pistons?

IF so I would rather just do that or find another gsr rod. and keep it at stock sleeve.


Is there a cheap fuel management that I can use? instead of the expensive HONDATA?

If you are on a tight budget, used GSR crank. Reuse your stock rods with 0.25mm over OEM pistons-B16, ITR, whatever. Have the block bored 0.25mm over. You should still at a minimum replace all of the bearings.
The Hondata S100 is only $195, or you can run Crome for free.

I have a GSR crank that's been machined, micropolished, and lightend if you want that. PM me if interested. Also I doubt you'll want them, but I have turbo H beam eagle rods too.
