Default winter snow tires

Hi there,
Wondering if i can put 16 " wheels on my 2007 FIT to : get it higher off the ground for clearance - esp snow clearance (Just purchased this summer Head to vermont every weeekend and school vacations to teach skiing - so Getting stuck isn't really an excuse unless the weather is EXXXXXtreme!!!

And what brand of snow would be best - .
thanks !

Hmm, seems like a possibility, although with much larger diameter wheels, you risk rubbing when turning at full lock. I know when I had my Civic Wagon (13" stock wheels), and I put on 15" SI wheels with fat factory rubber on, I gained atleast an inch of ground clearance, but there was a tiny bit of rubbing on the plastic fender liner at full lock. Let us know how it goes, I'm interested.

I would stick with tires of the proper diameter for your vehicle. Any speciality snow tire will perform much better than that stock all-season tires, but you can read a lot about different snow tire choices here:
