My '03 Accord has a problem with the front center console door not staying closed. I can close it but it will not latch and stay shut.
Before I start digging into the issue, has anyone encountered this before? Any suggestions / recommendations are certainly appreciated. Thanks in advance! |

Thanks for the response.... but the dealer wants $175 for a replacement compartment door.
Just to clarify, this is the compartment located just below the radio. |

Yeah. They want $175 because of the labor that goes into putting that thing in. In fact if you feel confident enough, buy the part and do it youself. There are quite a few pieces of dash that have to come off in order to get that box out of the car!

This was the retail price from the parts department at the dealer. This did not include labor.

Go call around to different dealers to see if they can fix it. I believe Honda had a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) # 02067 regarding the Center Assembly Pocket on the 2003 Accord. (Doesn't mean they won't charge you for the fix though .

Thanks for the reply killa rex. I’ve tried to confirm they piece of metal you were referring to but cannot find it. Also, it seems as if the entire car was built around this dash compartment. ;-) I've removed a few panel / pieces and it's not completely intuitive on how to get this compartment removed so I can see what's actually broken. Any additional advice is appreciated.
