Im currently looking at buying 18 inch rims, but am not sure if theyll fit under the fenders, what do you guys think?
Also what is a good size for tires? The first two numbers confuse me ??/??/R18 What do those mean and was is the size i should be using? |

Tire size works like this.
A/BRC Ex. 205/55R16 Tire width = 205mm sidewall = 55% of 205 (205x.55) Radius = 16" A = tire width (in mm) B = sidewall (from rim to edge of tire)(in % of tire width) C = Radius (in) I wouldn't go any higher than 16" rims. Probably 195/60R16's I'm not POSITIVE those will fit but they should. If not, same specs in 15" I wouldn't go much larger, but it's your call. 17" in my book are where low profile tires begin. On civics they look stupid - but that's just my personal opinion. Get 15's or 16's. Usually you pay less for rubber with 15's - your call.

ive put 20" on civic's for customers a number of times. its all about offset. it sure does look gay though. i agree with the 15-16" is perfect, if you got a super transformer bodykit by all means rock some 17-18, you gotta stick with your theme.

On a Civic, the correct 16" tire size to maintain the proper overall diameter would be either 205/45-16 or 215/45-16. Since the 205 is narrower, it will provide more clearance and less chance of rubbing if the car is low. For a 15" wheel, 195/55-15 or 205/50-15 would be the correct sizes. If you want to move up to a 17" wheel (since you asked about large wheels), you'll want a 205/40-17" tire to maintain the correct diameter.

personally i would also stick to what these guys are sayin and go either 15's or 16's or at the highest and no bigger, go 17"
civic's look dumb as hell with any larger than that, in my opinion 18's on a civic look about as good as a set of auto-zone plastic spinner hub-caps. . 18"or larger wheels + honda civic =

to me rim size is what your going for. 17" look nicer and would work with low profile tires, 15" is more for sport performance over looks, 16" seems to be the median everywhere that look and work best at the same time on 6th gen civics. I went with 16" running 205/40/16. Don't make my mistake, when buying tires I found certain models in 96 come with 13", all others up to 2000 came with 14". So if you go 16", buy 205/45/16 tires and it'll be perfect.

I wonder what that R stands for...anyway it's irrelevant, if you can't figure out that your rim is 16" and not 32" you got bigger problems than wondering if they'll fit or not @ you, no, I'm not changing it.I didn't say they were both correct, I said they'd both fit. As for running with 45's I must have COMPLETELY missed the part where he said his car was lowered. 45 or 55's will all fit fine. Probably 65's too but as I said, I'm not positive about 65's as that's pushing the envelope a bit. If he listens to me, he'll be fine, if he listens to your static, he'll also be fine. You know what, whatever, not worth arguing. You're 150% right, I'm 100% wrong. Go the fu8k away now & leave me the fu8k alone. @ OP: Don't listen to me, just, don't listen to a word I said, I'm 100% wrong in every aspect, this guy's 100% right, don't listen to me, at all, you will fail at life if you do!!!! Your car will blow up if you listen to me!!!
