Default Anyone having Issues with 3rd gear?

First I'd just like to say that this is a real cool site and I'm happy to be part of it. Back to the issue here with my 3rd gear. It seems like once in awhile my third gear pops out right after I put it in. Other times it feels like i put it into gear with the clutch all the way down but it doesnt really want to go. Or it gos like halfway and then it kinda clicks in. Maybe it sounds kinda weird or Im not explaining to well but if anyone has had this same situation or has information that would be cool. Thanks

Polijana will confirm this

After installing the comptech short shifter and weighted knob (i got circuit hero & he got skunk2)

all issues with 3rd have been "virtually NON existant"

Got 2 qts of Amsoil synchromesh MTF sitting on the bench in my shop. I just have to find an hour or so to swap the fluid out.....plus the floor in my garage is a little cold, so I think I'm going to try hit my buddy up to use his lift in a nice heated garage.

I think one of the biggest factors or 3rd gear notchiness is not letting the engine warm up before driving. I find that most times i have issues is when im rushing and drive the car while cold. the other times its mostly my error. i have the comptech short shifter i still have a few issues. i also got the Corsport bushings that i have to install hopefully that will correct it as well.

So where can i get the AMSOIL tranny fluid. And when i do, will the dealership charge me to change it out? Will it have any long-term effects on the tranny? Somebody said they were concerned about that i can't remember who though.

This was happening to me more and more often. I changed my MTF to the new Honda fluid, and it completely disappeared.

So which is better then? This new "Honda fluid" or the AMSOIL tranny fluid?

I used to have this problem and while it is fun buying new stuff for your car, I'm not sure it's necessary to get rid of the 3rd gear problem. I have done nothing to my car and it went away on it's own. Perhaps I am a rare case but maybe once you work the car in, it will go away.

I already have about 6200 miles. If it hasnt set in yet I dont know if it will anytime soon, but you never know. Though changing the tranny fluid could do it.

I'd wait till 10k and see if it happens anymore. I'm up to almost 20k and it hasn't happened in months for me. Just trying to save you a few bucks. You might want the comptech short shifter anyways though.

Well i'm just over 10K right now and the problem wasn't as bad as it was before, but it's still noticeable sometimes.

Yeah, this issue has caused me to always be cautious going into 3rd since its made me grind going into 3rd a few times. Hopefully honda figures a way to fix this.
