Civic's D4 light keeps blinking
Car: 2002 Honda Civic EX 2Dr
I had an alarm installed (Omega Max-E) last week and everything seems to work fine. Then I had a short ram intake installed the day after. The car seems to drive just fine until the morning following the install. The car have a CEL and the D4 light on the cluster keeps blinking. Also it feels like it's very weak and won't accelerate, like it's in some kind of limp mode or something. I've heard it's something to do with the Transmission Control Module, but it's often found in Accords. Any ideas?
I'll go ahead and check the engine code and get back to you guys.

Re: Civic's D4 light keeps blinking (elmerfudd)
Went to Autozone and found the CEL to be a "Manufacturer Controlled Transmissions" - P1705.
I reset the ECU and the CEL is gone. I ruled out the problem...it's not the intake, it's the alarm/remote starter (Honda security feature conflict with the remote starter). The car starts fine with remote starter because I've installed the bypass for it. Here are ONLY 2 possible scenarios:
1. Car is off. Put key in. Start the car. Drive perfectly normal with NO CEL.
2. Car is off. Use remote to start the car. Put key in and turn to position II. If gear change to N, nothing happens. Change gear into R, D4, D3, or D2....CEL (P1705) goes on and blinking D4 light on cluster and it stays like this. Car drives like crap after.
Any ideas?
