Nope....i went down the search path for this last year and found that the only way to get a black interior for a 96-00 is to go to like argentina where they made the LHD ek4 ...so painting or dying is the only option for us newer car owners. Now i have seen some people have their dash painted by a pro with paint booths and sprayers and such that came out great but as far as longevity of the paint without cracking or chipping no idea.

i painted mine and it turned out ok, when i got the car the interior was RICED out with WHITE EVERYTHING, so i just painted everything that was white black and couldnt have been happier, sure its not the best, but if ur not hitting EVERYTHING with somethin sharp it works good
some of vynil is that off greyish color but its not noticable unless ur lookin for it

Re: (deadazleep)
i ended up useing a few differnt types of paint before i found out what was best, but the best i found was that krylon fusion flat black color, the black that goes with the camo paint kit. As for the chiping, i'm not gona lie, it can chip, its not EASY EASY, but if u nick it good with ur key it might chip it. Cleaning hasnt became a issue yet, maybe i havnt noticed it, but it still looks good to me. the color it came with i found out the guy used etching primer and some type of paint and that **** DID NOT CHIP AT ALL, and could be cleaned with ANYTHING, if only i knew what the guy used, but for comparison, this was how i bought it

i'm sorry you had to go throught that. i almost bought a del sol once, but the white custom interior made me change my mind real quick.
there are no USDM 96-00 with black interior. i've seen the whole set up from a type-r go for around $500. not bad and not a pain in the *** either
