Default **How To** Install H23 Intake Manifold onto F22B1 head

I searched and didnt find one on HT so I did it and here is how-

H23 IM gasket on F22B1 IM(port comparison)-

Template made from tracing the F22B1 IM flange onto a manilla folder-

H23 flange marked for cutting-

H23 flange cut(hack saw and dremel)-

H23 IM mounted to F22B1 head and clearing Vtec solinoid-

Next up head goes to machine shop for cleaning and IM port matching.

I have more in store and will update as I make progress.

Hope this helps anyone interested in doing this.

***H23 IM only 30.00 shipped off Ebay, pretty cheap upgrade.***

It is looking good

Those ports on the head have to be ported out. You get the specs on the cam you are going to run?

I have not chosen a cam yet. i have to call a few places next week. Also need to get valve springs. The head will be port matched.

That port goes to the Tstat housing, all blocking that passage will do is keep the hot coolant from the head opening the Tstat. There are ways around this.

You could cut the manifold, and tap in a nipple to run to the thermostat housing.

Your head profile will help your cam choice.

Little bit. Easier to just punch a few holes in the T-stat.

Nope. The motor will have 11.5:1 CR, so running the stocker is out. Most likely end up running something from Web Cams.
