How long do Football games last?

How long do college football games usually last? I've been to several but am going to one tomorrow at 1:00 and need to be back by 5 and it's an hour drive to get there. Is it possible? Just wondering how long they usually last? This is a homecoming game for that school if that matters.

Well I'm going with some friends that I told long before I made other plans that I'd go with them so if they don't leave I'm stuck there. I've had people including my parents tell me not to drive down that I said I'd spend the day with them so it's rude not to that I need to go with them and forget about my other plans. On the other hand I'd personally like to go down tail gate and spend the day with them then go to the game and leave to come back. Do you guys think that is too rude? The only thing is they paid for my ticket which I'd pay for no problem but they wouldn't let me so thats the reason why I feel like I need to go.

NFL games average 3hrs 10 minutes, i dont know about college but it cant be that much different.

Werd, you also have to take in account getting out of the stadium, then getting out of the parking lot, then getting from the parking lot onto the highway.

So unless you leave before the game ends, you wont make it, not too mention you really should be too wasted to drive anywhere

3.5 hours is a good bet. But leaving a football game if you stay to the end will take forever, esp. if the team is decent....

games are aroudn 3 to 3.5 hrs..you wont make it back if you stay the whole game. just leave early

It's not a huge college. I didn't even know they had a football team until a friend went there. They estimated it would be done around 4 and said they are leaving then. I'm going to try to go with them but I really kind of think I should drive but I already told them I'd go.

I doubt this game is broadcast on TV but idk. I've seriously never known they had a team until now. It isn't like a big VA Tech game or something. Although they are supposed to be a good team I don't think they are that big. Tickets are like $10 lol.

There is one difference in clock rules; its something like dropped passes dont stop the clock; somebody correct me if Im wrong.

At least three hours, 3:30+ if televised. You won't be able to stay the entire game if you have to be somewhere by give.

12 minutes, but that doesn't mean that is how long they are. In the NFL it is usually an hour and a half till halftime. Make sure you are at your car at 4pm, So you might have to leave the game 20 or so minutes before that. It is still cutting it close.

There is a lot of ceremonies in Homecoming games as well, so be advised.
