Default Hey guys. what i think is a ignition problem... come take a look!

So 4 months ago i was at a Local hang out.. Was going to leave and tried to start up my 1993 Civic Ex Nothing happened.. all the accesories came on.. everything works just wont crank.. So I Started to check out the starter..

Few People on here told me to run a wire from the signal on the starter to the battery to see if the starter spins.. Spins fine when i do that.. So i said for a little while im a rig a 50a switch up to the starter.. To get me by.. now i wanna fix this issue...

Is it my ignition key switch?? I need to know what the hell it is!! lol

Thank You HT

Has the car ever shut off on you while driving or has the accessory lights on teh dash not come on when you turned the key? My ignition switch recently went bad in my 98 hatch. Turned out there was a recall, fixed for free!

i had a similar problem yesterday too.

if you car does not crank but has power, it could be the main relay.

if you don't hear the hissing noise, like your fuel priming then it could be your fuel pump.

or it could be alot of other things.

If its not cranking, I believe it CAN be the main relay.

See if have continuity between the ignition switch and the original starter signal when you turn it to the on position. That should tell you if the switch is working or not.

if you haven't done it yet.
Check the ground wire at the thermostat housing.
Mine went loose one day and it did the same thing.
I ended up changing the main relay and was about to order a new ignition switch.
Luck for me, I checked the grounds before buying the switch.
that ground leads to the main relay and ecu.
your car wont do squat if it is loose.

You need a VOM to do this, a test light is only going to tell you if you have 12 volts coming from a source. Continuity test lets you know if the wire is open somewhere. You would hook up one of the leads to the starter signal wire and the other lead to the plug that comes from the ignition switch, the starter signal wire on that side ofcourse. If you have continuity there, and you know you have a good ground, then I would say that its the ignition switch.

have your battery tested (but you need to have it tested with a load or with a load tester) because you can have everything turn on but wont crank. check that and check all power wires fuses etc. oh and make sure all connections are clean

Its not his battery end of story....... Im leaning torward your ignition switch continuity shot get a vom like stated and check it out i need to find the diagram i forget which wire to check but will get to you asap also did you check fuses?
could be a blown fuse or relay check your ignition switch with a vom first than go to fuses and relay if that doesnt work thats when id resort to ordering a new ignition switch..
