Nicely done. one question though, would it be possible to put painted wheels in your oven so that they wont chip? Just a thought.

Because valve covers get REALLY hot. Just get it powdercoated. Itll run her like $40 and the finish will probably outlast the car.

Can't help but ask.. But would Duplicolor Metalcast hold up on VC? Obviously I won't be able to heat treat it. Just wondering if anyone has ever used this one before. And also, what do you wetsand with between the paint and the clearcoat? 1500?

i go to this Automotive Academy through my high school and my teacher told me it wasnt a good idea because of some chamber thats under the valve cover and sand will get stuck in there and end up in the engine. this was a valve cover for a d16y6 that i showed him

The letters do get painted... You just have to sand them down little by little. Start from 80 grit then use 120, then 320. The trick is to make sure that the paint is fully dry and cured so that it would be easy to sand em down! goodluck!
