how to wire an OBDII dizzy up to an OBDI harness
ive spent the past 2 hours lookin all over this site and all over the internet with no help.. im trying to wire up my obdII ls dizzy-8 wires to an obdI harness-9 wires.
the obdI harness has an extra blue wire on it that the obdII plug does not have.
i need to know what wires from the plug go to the harness to match them up and what to do with the extra blue wire..

inside a 0bd11 dizzy the blue wire (rpm)is not there.if you open it up and look at the icm it will only have 3 wires plugged in and one missing.the one that is missing is the rpm (blue wire).Add the blue wire to there.i will post up the rest of the wiring for you in the next hour or two,i just need to find my writeup i made up.

i cant find my book with all my wiring conversions i have done right now.so im going over the schematics right now.what year of dizzy you have there in the pic?97-98 or 99-2000.take a pic of the wiring on the dizzy for me.sounds like you have a obd2 "b" dizzy cause the obd2 "a" dizzy has 9 wires.

ok, i was typing this big long reply to ur post, telling you all the colors and everything that are coming from the dizzy since my camera is dead. i was looking at the plug that comes off the stock obdII harness the whole time.. the dizzy actually has 9 wires coming out of it, with that blue wire. its just that the plug on the harness side doesnt have the terminal to send the signal.. ill just add it in there.. damn i feel like a jackass.. lol. regardless, thanks for the help since i probably wouldnt have looked at it in such detail if it wasnt for ur questions..thanks man..

What year OBD2 distributor do you have? If it's off a 96-97 then you don't have to worry about the tach. signal wire because it has one. If you have a 98-00 then what you have to do is:
- Remove the cap, rotor, and cover
- Find the Ignitor
- When you find it you will see a tab on it that's not being used by a connector, that's where the tach signal comes from
- Take a spare OBD1 dizzy pop it open and compare the two. Then take the blue wire off of the ignitor in the OBD1 dizzy and transplant it to the OBD2 dizzy
- Finally, unpin the connectors on both the OBD1 and OBD2 distributors and repin the two OBD1 connectors to the OBD2 dizzy wiring
Below is the pic of the tab I'm talking about. Hope this helps.
