Have you checked your oil level and has your engine been knocking? Running premium? Low oil pressure and the knock sensor could both cause your engine to run in limp mode.

your VTEC kicks in at 4400. your butterflies open at 5700. it feels weak because your car is stock. u cant really feel VTEC in a bone stock motor. get some cams if u want to really feel it. other than that. .check your oil pressure, make sure your car is fully warm, and clean your Vtec Solonoid

lol...you can't expect vtec to put you in your seat like a turbo or anything. the stock gsr vtec was designed to produce a constant power band through out all 8000 rpm's. if you want to feel the cross over get a vtec controller and move the cross over to 6000 rmp's. not going to give you any more power but if you want to feel the crossover thats how ya do it.
