Re: (mgags7)
i basically want to get rid of my PS, by looping the lines; im trying to figure out how do i loop the lines, do i need any connectors, or fittings like he used? Or can i just cut and loop them? sorry for all the ?'s im new to this DIY thing lol
And as in loop i mean the "In line" to the "out Line" in the steering rack, i am not looking to do a manuel steering rack conversion at this time, but maybe in the future. I am not that savvy yet to do it, and looking for the easy way out

How do you get through state inspections without power steering? I took mine out then I had to get it inspected and failed because I took P/S out. Maybe it's just the state I live in?

I usually go to the shitist garage i can find, that do inspections, than i pay of the guy about 50 bucks to run his car on the dyno instead of mine thats with the price of inspection included in the 50. By the time they finish that they dont check anything else lol

i'm going to add in what to do with a 4th gen....just because the racks are different and you have to account for the Power steering speed sensor

Everyone please understand that there is a difference from just cutting the belt, to looping the lines. With the belt cut, you know have to work past all the fluid and force it around. It's more difficult without the belt, than if you were to have your fluid lines looped.

Re: HOW TO: Remove Power Steering and Loop the lines (Acidcrakker)
ooh glad i read these 2 pages, to add to the low speed parking lot situations, it really helps to use a smaller diameter steering wheel. As counterproductive as that may sound (smaller circumference equaling to requiring more force to turn) the majority of the difficult is the awkwardness of the muscles you use. cuz i noticed in my old prelude w/ belt off that when i needed to turn at no speed, i only yanked at the one side. so a smaller wheel will just get more done w/ the same movement. (the 1 yank) because for damn sure there was no way i was gonna be using my shoulder in a side to side motion.
good stuff, but definately not for me since i love steering w/ 1 hand (other hand on shifter) even for parking.

Re: HOW TO: Remove Power Steering and Loop the lines (dagle)
for a 4th gen:
everything is basically the same....the only thing that is different is you have a couple of extra hoses to remove, and looping the lines is different.....
power steering speed sensor.....
i used the smaller rubber line that goes to it.....
and this is how i looped the steering rack, the barb fitting is on the very right
i went to autozone and picked up some 3/8" trans. cooler lines.

So you looped the VSS together?
ALso I had my Power Steering Belt off for better part of a week, and something started minorly grinding. IDK what it was, but it stopped when I put the belt back on. Any thoughts or IDeas on that one.

Okay heres my drawing. I should of said more like a retard drew it rather than a retard can understand.
So when removing Power steering does the PS. Resover and Cooler have to stay or can they all be removed?
When looping the lines, all you have to do is loop the lines off that connect to the VSS and Block off the other line that goes to the PS Pump. Dont you have to keep some PS fluid in there so the VSS can work, or is it not needed?
Im having a hard time trying to understand just what it is that needs to be looped here.

Okay so after re-readin 98vtecs original post I have a few questions.
1. The attachment fits on the steering rack is looped to the middle of the 3 lines on the steering rack.
2. The 1st and 3rd lines on the steering rack are looped together.
3. Make sure to top the steering rack off with PS Fluid it is needed.
4. Everything else is removed.
Sound about right.
JAred I really cant tell what your pictures are.
