Ran it at Bristol again this past Thursday.
Tires were at 28 psi, changes were a 1MD clutch versus a 1MS (same pads, but disc is lighter due to no springs, 1MS disc had lots of life left in it but I destroyed the pressure plate, pics later). Put an EX trans it it since I destroyed the Y7 trans (crossthreaded interlock guide bolt and it came out). Also put the Y7 exhaust manifold back on, still no exhaust. Low end power feels a lot better with it, more sluggish in the top end. But definitely quieter. No more turning up the radio all the way to hear it. Also, the EX 2nd gear feels nice. Overall the EX trans is pretty nice, but the gears are still way too long as you can see by my new times. Never hit 4th with it. Only got 3 runs in. Best was: 1/4 - 16.822 @ 78.91 2.418 60' 1/8 - 10.651 @ 64.22 Was launching and half slipping the clutch, no pre-load. Would drop to 5,000 and spin through 1st, no wheel hop.

Ran it this past Tuesday. Humid and hot as hell so I don't like posting the results but its what I got. Don't know if its the tire pressure or weather or even just the gear spacing but I didn't really like the EX trans with the 4.7. Fun as hell to drive, but I was hitting 4th right before the line. Tried it in 3rd but bounced it and added .14 to my time and took 5mph off my trap. Played around with tire pressures this time too.
40psi warm 2.45 60' 1/8 - 10.680 @ 64.86 1/4 - 16.759 @ 80.10 15psi warm 2.312 60' 1/8 - 10.555 @ 64.26 1/4 - 16.722 @ 78.40 I was much happier with the 15 psi runs but I think 2x would have been the key. It just felt slow on 15psi. No burnouts, no quick spins to clean debris off either. SMSP header is on right now so I'll have a before/after time for that next time I run. Whenever I get the close gearset in I'll change it back to stock.
