Default jdm b18c civic swap wont rev past 4k

I just swapped a jdm b18c into my 99 civic ex coupe with the help of alot of you guys on this site and i appreciate it. I cant find the answer to the problem i have now though so i figured id sign up and post a thread, and try and help other people too from what i learned on my swap.
Ok so i drove the car for the first time yesterday and it wouldnt rev past 4k, when i got to that rpm it would backfire like it hit a rev limiter. Today i was driving it again and the idle was real low and would sometimes stall, and it also starting smoking white smoke from under the hood when the engine warmed up. Just now the car wouldnt start up so i jump started it and made it halfway up the block before it died. The battery is brand new so im clueless. Its just one problem after another, if u have any ideas please help because im going crazy. Thanks guys

I would check if ur Map sensor Plug &Tps is backwards...If not that it might be that ur ECU is chipped and has a 2 Step and ur VSS dont work so its not letting it go past....Check them

Thanks for your words of wisdom blabdkdbeo.... anyway today i made sure the map and tps werent backwards and the vss is good. I got the alternator tested today and it was bad so i got a new one and so far no stalling and but it still wont rev past 4k. Got the cel checked and it reads p1259 vtec system malfunction which im thinking is vtec solendoid?

is timing on physical and electronic ?

The timing is on point. The idle still seems low while the engine is cold but once it warms up its fine. I noticed the jdm vtec solenoid only has one plug while the usdm one has two. Im using a jdm p72 ecu so does this matter? Or should i get a usdm solenoid and plug in both plugs?
