20 ft/lbs for the 12mm

7.8 ft/lbs for the 10mm

Don't overtighten because the bolts WILL snap. It has happened to me 4 times so far.

the engine is a b18a1 it has all 10 mm bolts which is what my buddy told me, im not taking it apart till i know the specs. What if i just used a torque wrench to find out? would it work that way? like start out small and work my way up little by little until they move a tiny bit then go down one and that should be the torque right?

Don't do that.

20 ft/lbs for the 12mm & 7.8 ft/lbs for the 10mm sounds about right though. It's not much, and they wont seem "super" tight, but you don't want to over do it.

BTW, correct torque specs for the LS is 7.8 ft/lbs on the cam caps. The GSR (which uses 12mm bolts) is somewhere in the 18-22 range (i forget exactly....which is why I own a freakin helms manual).

According to the '92 service manual for the B18A, the camshaft holder bolts are 7 ft/lbs (10 Nm) the cam gear bolts are 27 ft/lbs.
