Re: Official EF SEDAN SQUAD Thread
IMO tyres aren't really needed to make the car handle better. Definitely to make it quicker and carry more speed, but I always loved the way my car handled on 205/45r16's, they were just average tyres but they were the same all round and although the grip wasn't huge you could feel the balance of the car a lot better and I think the grippier tyres I have now are going to highlight the fact I need stiffer springs, bigger sway bar etc.

The big problem being that these things have been mostly beat to hell, can be picked up for pennies on the dollar, and at that point who really cares how bad you have to mangle it to get to that "stanced crew status". And the stanced movement has all but killed the real tuning scene. It's a "HEY LOOK AT ME" statement from a generation of kids who grew up on social media constantly screaming "HEY LOOK AT ME".
Nobody gives a **** anymore about making the car handle better, or getting efficient power from under the hood. If they can static drop it to the pavement, slap some 175's on 8-inch wide wheels, camber the **** out of the thing, and cover it in retarded stickers that say something like "illest" or "#insertrandomhashtaghere", then they get praise from the bro guy ******** just like them and they're happy.
The real enthusiasts will still seek out information, and 9 out of 10 times their search will land them here on H-T. Sadly, the real enthusiasts are a dying breed and we're left with what we have now.

Agreed. I just want my cars to be daily, original, oem stock, reliable drivers.

I've put 11,000 miles on the white sedan in three months. Back to stock height and loving it!
No mechanical issues so far, but the A/C was nice while it lasted:
Heard a hissing sound at one of my stops today, and realize one of the suction tubes has been rubbing against the radiator for awhile. It's completely rubbed through now...
Good news is I think I have an extra one of the pipes in question, and it looks fairly easy to replace.

Re: Official EF SEDAN SQUAD Thread
The Beast sedan has been hibernating for the summer. Safe and sound in the garage. Last I took it out was in early June, and it was running coolant temps of ~220*F at freeway speeds. Can't get those air bubbles out of my life! Now I understand why and what Toyota, GM, ETC did what they did with their cooling systems where the engine is higher than the radiator...plus my half-rad with nothing blocking the other half isn't helping...concept of air taking the path of least resistance and all...
Anyways, here's the last shots I took of it, back in May:

You've probably tried already, but cutting a soda bottle in half and holding it firm to create a bit of a seal around the neck of the radiator will raise the fluid level of the system and allow you purge the air out of the bleeder valve on the thermostat.
Car looks mean in that last pic!

Re: Official EF SEDAN SQUAD Thread
We had to put the arms of a lift just behind the front wheels (rear tires still on the ground) and raise the lift to get the car around 60 degrees and run it for 30 minutes to get the air out. Ridiculous! I have a leak at the upper radiator house outlet that I can't get rid of, and I don't think that's helping matters...
For an at-home remedy though, your suggestion is great. Never thought of it TBH. Soda bottle + floor jack is a great alternative. I do need to invest in one of those "plug-able bleeding jugs" you can attach to the radiator though, the kind Eric The Car Guy uses

Good to see the beast out and hope you can sort out the AC issue on the daily.

TGIF to you as well Jon
Well, got a battery in the Civic and scooped up a timing light while I was at it. Didn't do much playing with it, but she didn't want to start with an ITR basemap. Going to call the tuner and see what he recommends. I would really like to have at least started it before I trailer it to his shop/dyno.

Stock ITR map from the Hondata repositories. I'm gonna call the tuner and see what they say about coming out and putting a street tune on it so I can at least put a few miles on the motor before slapping her on the dyno and going for a power tune.

Re: Official EF SEDAN SQUAD Thread
That'd be sweet if they could do that. I wonder if there's something off though if it's not starting on an OEM basemap.

Codes 10 and 20. Injectors are 440's and the trim was adjusted before trying to fire her up.
