hmmm. This might be a great idea. I had always wondered if there was a Nikon thread at all.

I wonder if we'll have the Canon guys come in here and start shit like the Rota vs. Mugen wars!

Anyway, I guess to get this one rolling we can start off with basic "Post your Nikon gear" posts for the first few pages, just so everyone knows who's shooting with what.

Nikon D70
18-70mm
70-300mm
60mm Macro
10.5mm fisheye
50mm 1.4
SB-800
Wireless remote
2GB 80x CF card, 2x 1GB 80x CF cards
Hoya CPL for 18-70, 70-300 (also fits 60mm macro), and 50mm
Hoya UV for 18-70, 70-300 (also fits 60mm macro), and 50mm
3rd party battery grip
1x EN-EL3, 1x EN-EL3a, 1x EN-EL3e batteries
12x 2500 mAh rechargeable Energizer AA batteries (for SB-800 and emergency camera backup)
Slik 330dx tripod

D200 was ordered last December but cancelled when someone ran over my camera bag with their Tacoma and destroyed $1200 worth of equipment and gave me $0. I used the money from the D200 to replace my lenses, but am about to order the D200 again.

I'm in the market for a new bag though, I need one that holds 2 bodies and 5+ lenses plus equipment... but isn't too horribly bulky that I can't carry it around with me.

I know I ask for the impossible.

I'm guessing you're using the 18-55 lens?

Pics look good, haven't seen many D50 pics. Mostly D70 and up.

Alright, another idea, one shot that shows the quality/features of each lens. I'll start:

50mm f/1.4

Shot wide open at 1/60, f/1.4, super d00per bokeh... but I can hand hold at ISO 200 in low light! (don't mind the text, its the title image from my site)

60mm f/2.8 Macro

very very very sharp, this is untouched, ISO 640 1/50 f/2.8 handheld.

10.5mm f/2.8 fisheye

the coolest lens I own, 180 degrees of view and spot on sharp. no sharpening on this one.

70-300mm f/4-5.6

not VR and not f/2.8, which is a pain, but very sharp. nice $250 telephoto. shot at full zoom.

18-70 kit lens

very good all around, not the sharpest wide open but its got a good range of uses. still my most used lens until i pick up the 18-55 f/2.8.
