Default 88 Sedan Build

I bought this 1988 DX sedan back in August for $800. The body was in decent shape but the motor and tranny were hurting. The car has 27X,XXX miles on it. When I first bought it, it looked like this:

The car didn't want to run right so I parked it in the garage until the week before Thanksgiving when I needed it to drive to DC. MY buddy and I replaced the front brakes, spark plugs and wires, oil and checked all the fuses. It ran great after that and I drove it everyday until now. Since the maintenance work I've gutted it, painted it, dropped it, installed a passenger mirror and a tail light swap. Here's the updated pictures:

Now it's off the road back in the garage for a swap. Here's what's about to happen:

ZC block
D16Z6 head
Si cable tranny
Dinan chipped P28
OBD0 to OBD1 w/ DPFI to MPFI
auto to manual conversion
Clutchmasters dual friction clutch w/ Si flywheel
Short ram intake w/ K&N filter
eBay special header and test pipe
custom 3" cat back
3A muffler (i know , but it was free)
install Zex box and lines (need line from bottle to box)
MSD Sport Compact ignition system
NGK-R plugs w/ fresh OE wires
Password JDM magnetic oil and tranny plug
Royal Purple oil
Denso 4 wire 02 sensor
Si guage cluster
custom switch panel
removal of heater core and ac controls
complete wire tuck and removal of anything not needed in engine bay
engine bay fuse box relocation to were glove box was
Relocate battery to trunk
possible HID install w/ password JDM yellow H4 in place of high beams
amber corner lights
EG Mugen style front lip
New oe front bumper, hood and trunk (cause they need replacing)
new radiator (cause old one has broken nipple for overfill tank)
clean interior and paint
fix body work and shave antenna location

My immediate plans are:
LS mesh, 00 Si or EG HX wheels
CRX Si seats or teg seats in black cloth
Black front seat belts or paint brown ones and get black 4 points
Buddy Club short shifter
Nology wires and Denso iridium plugs
Lighten stock Si flywheel
Hondata gaskets

there are more plans but these are just my immediate have to do soon ones. Please let me know what you think and what you would have done different what I should do in the future Feedback both good and bad is much appreciated. Thank you for viewing my page. I'll update more pictures of the swap as they happen.

Dope!

Good luck with your plans on the fo' do'. No heat or ac = hardcore!

Only thing I would do is scale back from 3" exhaust to something....smaller. 3" gives it an obnoxious hollow 'BLAAAAT'
Oh and I like the taillight swap except the middle black part, but that's just me.

It looks alright, I have the same model and year AND color of sedan yours USED to be, mine's still tan, thumbs up to you, but really, I'm not diggin the stripped out interior, I think a sedan should definately stay completely intact, just my opinion

Thanks for all the feedback. I'll post up more pictures as the swap progresses. Yes it's rattle can flat black. My boy is the man, he painted it at night with only a wipe down. We'll be re painting it once we do the minor body repair.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by mahatma &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Only thing I would do is scale back from 3" exhaust to something....smaller. 3" gives it an obnoxious hollow 'BLAAAAT'

I'm toying with the idea of putting the red 88 middle in there, and keeping it w/o reverse lights. I'll post up pictures of that when I do it and see what everyone thinks.

The plan is to buy another one when it gets cold to use as a daily driver. I wont gut that one.

why in gods name would you want to gut a 4 door?
Get a crx or atleast a hatch for that.

Besides that mistake, it looks cool.

LOL I'm sure it's a sohc zc.....give the man some credit

Honestly I'd look at 2.25" piping.....2.5" max.

And the taillight idea sounds like a winner.

Thanks for all the feed back. Yeah I know the interior is a little hard on the eyes here's what I did this morning.
- the day after I brought it home
- still some stuff to be removed
- much lighter + old **** box is finally gone!!! manual here I come

once I clean and paint the interior it'll look much nicer

I bought the motor from a friend who had it in a eg coupe with a bullshit tranny, stock manifold and exhuast so we never able to see it's pontential. I think judging by how it ran in the eg it should be decent starting point as far as a d motor goes. I'm going to get 2.5" from test pipe to muffler. I'll be getting that on Monday of next week. Thanks for all the feedback everyone!
