It's not hard at all. The most difficult part, IMO is putting the timing belt back on and not getting off by a tooth (which still isn't that hard). No need to remove cams or anything like on a DOHC. Just get a new gasket and bolt the head down to the right specs.

Then you have to wire in the VTEC solenoid, but that's very easy too if you have an EX ECU.</TD></TR></TABLE> pretty much dead on its so easy to do the swap, like 2-4 hours depending on how muchyou know under your hood.i had the most trouble with the bracket on the Intake manifold attached to the block

ok so, say i was going to buy a y8 head for my d16y7 motor. i would have to change the ECU? do i have to change the ECU for any head i put on my engine? also, can i put something better on than the y8 head? i would like to have vtec, but i want a little more power than what the y8 head offers. if someone had a head changing guide or something, that would be great. thanks.
