If I broke my ankle would I still be able to walk/move it?

Its likely not broken, but you probably did some **** to the ligaments/tendons

As for being able to move it, it really depends on the sort of fracture. If its a hairline fracture or a chipped bone, you can move it, if its a clean break, good luck

that's just a bad sprain. Happened to me once, and I couldn't walk on it for over a week. Just ice it and live with the pain.

If it was broken, you would know.

I fell on my wrist about two months ago and it felt like I sprained it really bad, until about 12am when I woke up in terrible pain. I decided to get it looked at in the morning and I had broken my radius all the way through.......

I'd get it looked at because if it's out of place and it heals like that.....not good

Yeah i had something stupid happen like this, goofing around with a volleyball in my gf's backyard, didn't notice the angle iron holding up the fence untill i bent my leg around it. Could barely walk for like 3-4 weeks and still bothers me today but not broken just really "sprained" ie fucked

I would just go to the doctor if you have good insurance. I thought I sprained my ankle really badly once and just lived with the pain. I did it again the next summer but I had insurance so I went to the doctor. They found a healed fracture from my first "sprain" .

I broke my ankle once sliding into second base in a little league game. It hurt like a ****, but I could still walk on it. I walked on it for over a week, then it started to hurt more, so I got it checked out

Damn, so many mixed answers...

I guess I can just go get it checked out since I have insurance. I just hate waiting then they just give me an icepack and a pair crutches

If you can walk and move without excruciating pain, then chances are nothing is broken. The swelling going down is a pretty good indicator that you sprained it. You should still probably see your doctor in case you might have done something worse, though I doubt you could've.

Just make sure not to put too much pressure on it and try to ice it, but go see your doctor just because.

It's not broke, just a sprain. I have rolled each of my ankles 4-5 times playing basketball. Sometimes so bad that I couldn`t walk for at least a week.

Funny story: I rolled my ankle bad at 10pm the night before my 2nd interview at Eibach. I had to roll in on crutches and my ankle was so swelled that I could not put a shoe or sock on. Nice suit, crutches and one shoe on. haha. They asked if I wanted a tour of the facility and I said no.

i agree, back in august fractured/injured some of the ligaments and tendons. spent prob 3 1/2 weeks on crutches, 5-6 weeks in one of the big robo boots and still having problems to this day still with it.

almost immediately after it looked like a softball was coming out of the front of my ankle. and the next few days the side of my foot was black and even around my toes.

Hope it feels better but if the swelling went down it probably isnt too bad.

i broke my ankle when I was 15 and it didnt hurt at all. So you might want to get that checked out. Hell for that matter I have broken my wrist and jaw too and neither of them hurt either, yet when I broke my little toe...damn that hurt like a mother ******. Good luck

man i thought i'd be able to help ya with this one (broke my ankle in a motorcycle accident ... plate and 6 screws put in my ankle) ... then i remember i nailed my head so hard i had no idea wtf was goin on ... but the paramedic asked if anything hurt and i said i thought my leg was broken ..

so in short ... i thnk you'd know if it was broken.
