With an LS the only thing really worth the cost wold be a K series in my opinion, I I don't know much about that.

Depends on what class you're going for... The LS motor can do well in some traditional classes, and it can also be a monster in an unlimited class. Unless classing dictates otherwise, you'll get more bang-for-the-buck from putting money into the LS motor than doing a swap.

Use the stock engine, B18A, for as long as possible. It will give me the same thrill as any motor on the track. In addition, the stock motor is much less expensive than any swap. You should get as much seat time as possible with less horsepower and learn to drive momentum - in other words, work the corners until you are consistent lap after lap as you gain confidence going faster and faster. That is my only advice.

If you want to do a K motor you'd have to do a lot of modification and custom work. Currently no one makes any motormounts or other items. I called Hasport a month ago about putting a K motor into my 93 GS street car. They said there is no demand for that swap.

I'd stick with the stock B18A or maybe a newer B18B. With a few mods you can get respectible power. On my street B18A with nothing more than an intake, Skunk2 exhaust, some headers, a test pipe, and lastly a Skunk2 intake manifold we got 130 to wheels and 121 torque. It only made 140 at the crank to begin with.

You can also swap in the cams from a 92-93 B18A or a 94-01 B18B, and do a little tuning.

I've done track time before, this would be mainly for open track events. So doing a swap is not worth it. Would about swapping a crv motor, the whole thing bottom and top end, just fot torque reasons. But again i would miss having that top end from a vtec motor. So many decisions. I'm going to spend about $3500

A B20 swap has even less bang-for-the-buck than the other swap options. For $3500, you could turbo the LS, have way more power and torque than any of these swaps would give you, and still have money left over.
