well its a b18b turbo in an eg.. it revs up and downallll day.. replaced teh iacv still reving up and down.. what else can it be? not a vacuum leak. thanks.

i had this problem in my car for over a year it can be anything from
low coolant map sensor blown head gasket iacv fast idle valve try unplugging the tps sensor and adjusting the idler screw or the screw under the throttle body that will also adjust the idle |

look for a vacuum leak...maybe a vac hose with a leak?

Take off the upper IC pipe and cover up one of the two hole inside the throttle body and see if the surging stops. If it does then it is the fast Idle valve.

nope no check engine light
whats weird is that i had this problem before.. and then it went away completely then after i put in seafoam it came back and never went away.. changed teh iacv yesterday still happening umm messed w/ the thing under teh t/b oopen the two screws put it back ntohing.. was low on coolant. but taking out the intake pipe.. i'd have to do soomuch work what else can it be? |

did you unplug the tps plug and adjust the idle?
also when you are changing sensors make sure to reset the ecu whats sea foam? |

sea foam is something to clean out ur internals. i dunno made my car worst if u ask me

look under your intake manifold there are a bunch of plastic nipples for vacum that always break off

i bet it's a vacuum leak....if not use a voltmeter to check ur TPS sensor...i don't think it would be ur map did you change any ECU stuff lately.....what EMS u runnin???

After using seafoam you should reset your computer cuz it gets tricked into thinking its running rich and takes a while to relearn, also i have heard of seafoam ruining o2 sensors and have had a bad o2 make my n\a gsr motor rev like that till I changed it. FYI: to reset computer remove 7.5 backup fuse in engine compartment for 10 sec or neg battery terminal

Take off the pipe going into your throttle body after its warmed up, put your finger over the hole inside on the bottom of the tb. If it's pulling suction then your fast idle thermo valve is bad.

mine also had this problem recently, i knew what it was never really fixed it. well till sunday. it was the FIT, but there are soo many different things that would make it do it. if no vac leaks. can only be the TB gasket or the FIT

geeeeez my car has been revving up at down from 1k to 3k when its sposed to be idling and theres tons of crap i have to check
oh well...i love working on my car
