I'm having a discusssion with a co-worker about civics in general, and I wanted to show him the difference between the 1993 Civic Ex interior and the 94-95 Ex interior.

I was trying to explain the hard-*** cloth and funky-*** patterns on the 1993-only, but pics would do much better.


IMO the 1993 interior is hideous, but the 94-95 is nice and plush with a nice dark black bolster with horizontal pattern'd inserts.

If those of you reading were not aware of this difference then this could be educational.

just an observation, how come when someone with 13k posts asks for pics in here about interior no one flames, but if someone with say 10 posts does the same they get bombed 20 pages over. if we want the rules to be enforced then all people need to adhere to em, just my 2 cents

Excuse me who the hell are you?

This has plenty of technical merit considering I'm pointing out a key difference between the 1993 Civic and the 94-95 Civic EX coupes, regardless if it's is a cosmetic difference. It is a stock difference just like someone asking which cars had exterior side trims, and which did not. I'm not asking about how to dye or paint my interior, am I?

Maybe if you'd been here for 4 or more years you might not be so critical of my topic here, and besides I wrote the very rules you speak of, so I think I may know how to properly interpret them, don't you? This forum had no posted rules until I posted them, so go lecture someone else who's asking about altezza lights, okay?

BTW:

I'm not trying to step on our current mods' toes - I may have written the first drafts of the rules, but they enforce them and certainly expanded and improved upon those rules.

Just do what I did, go to autotrader and look for 1993 specific EX only in the 200miles radius and just look at all the interiors

Bingo, thanks guys.

Note the "animal print" pattern on the 1993 EX seat bolster areas - that stuff is literally stiff and feels as though it could actually give you an abrasion if you slid across it too fast.

Now note the plush almost velour-like bolsters of the 94-95 - very soft, and much more pleasing to the eye with it's non-patterned texture.

The difference is, ^^^^ this guy is trying to sell something in the WRONG forum. Tom (b18c5-eh2) is educating us on 92-95 interiors, in the CORRECT forum. Don't try to act smart, when you're not even right to begin with. And as Ricey stated, Tom is the man, so talking badly to him (for no reason) is about the quickest way to become hated in this forum. (Granted if he was wrong, go for it, by all means educate us on his incorrectness)

So do I need to expand this to include that 1992-1995 Civic Si hatches had completely different seat patterns and clotch from 1994-1995 Civic Si hatches?

1992-1993 had grey, harsher cloth on the bolsters that turn green over time, with nice vertical-striped inserts of light grey and dark grey.

1994-1995 seats had the nicer velour-like darker bolsters that don't fade, but they had horizontal rainbow striped printed inserts which IMO ruin the seat completely. You have to look kind of hard to see the rainbow patterns, but it's there.

I'll try the auto-Trader trick to see if I can find pics of each.

That's the most notable difference for all 1992-1993 Civics vs. 1994-1995 Civics, but for EX models inparticular there are a few more differences:

1993 black coupes had TAN interior, while 94-95 had the much more desirable black interior.

The different pattern cloth (which is being discussed)

OE Honda "AR" tweeters in the driver's doors on 94-95 Civic, but not 1993 EX. Note the tweeters in the last few 1993 Ex pics (the first pic has aftermarket ones) and then compare it to the 1994-1995 Ex pic - see the tweeters in the doors? that's factory.

I dig that but wasn't most of that stuff optional? I mean, I'm not the wiz in interiors but there were a lot of options that people didn't take. I think you were there when the guy argued with me about 1994-1995 Hatchback Si's have automatic doors and windows. There were an option but not too many people took it.

Tan is a gay color for interiors if you ask me but I feel what you're saying. I like the 1992-1994 interiors more now that you mention it.

Totally different topic, but I can assure you 100% that power windows nor doorlocks were ever offered from the FACTORY on any 1992-1995 US-spec Civic hatchback - Si or not.

One of the easiest ways to verify this is call your local dealership's parts department and ask for a power doorlock actuator for any 1992-1995 Civic Si hatch - if it was truly an option they MUST offer the replacement part. The guy's answer will be:

"It shows it, but it won't let me click it because it's not available on this model."

Now ask the same for any 1993-1995 Civic EX coupe - he can get it for you then.



Remember not to confuse dealer-added options, such as power moonroof/doorlocks/windows on DX models, which I've personally seen at dealerships I worked at.

Just because someone buys a brand new Civic DX from the dealership with a power moonroof doesn't mean it was a FACTORY option.

But Tom, they are deff not "harsh" like the seats of the 92-93 ex.

Not only could Tom talk about his toilet, but he'd have a full write up as to how to do a Tom's JDM toilet conversion; which, under the right "boost" conditions, could put 30-65 whp and drastically increase handling. Tom

That's the material used for the stock 1992-1993 Si HB seat inserts, but the bolsters have the slightly harsher "green" cloth. I call them "green" because I've yet to see a set that were not faded to that greenish grey color.

Yes that cloth on the doors matches the seat inserts, and it is found on the 1992-1993 Si hatch only.
