G2 - G3 - G4
What's with all this flaming about G3 and G4??.. What about G2??.. I don't know about you guys but.. Although I have a G3 GSR.. I kinda like the G2 better. I just can't help it. It was my first car and the GSR is my second.. It's kinda hard for me not to like the G2's.. I mean, comparing the seats from the G2 to the G3.. I kinda like the G2's better.. I like how they're not so much of a bucket seat.. I just like to see the hood of my car I guess. I'm still not really used to not being able to see the hood of my car and the road beneath it.. I also seem to take corners a lot better in the G2 than in the G3.. I don't know why.. But maybe it's because I'm used to the G2 more..
And about the G4... What's with the bashing. I'm sure it can't be that bad.. I mean, you guys say that it doesn't feel fast and stuff. Does that mean you guys are stating that it drives sort of like a Prelude 97-01.??.. Because when I drove a Prelude, it felt slow as hell.. But when I looked over to the speedometer, it already said 70mph.. I'm sure that the G4 owners know what I'm talking about.. (I hope---LOL)..
Anyways, any of you guys feel this way??.. I mean about liking the G2 over the G3... Could be a dumb question but hey.. I plan on swapping my GSR motor into the G2 whenever it's motor breaks down.. That'll probably be awhile since my dad plans on keeping to well into 200,xxx miles.. (shhesh)

Man, I got a 93 G2, and I love my car. It corners real nice, and its mad fast. I did do a bunch of upgrades to get it that way tho. We just need to see more Gen2 Lovin on this site.

Re: G2 - G3 - G4 (PnX-R)
I hope I end up feeling the same way you do. I used to have a 95 Integra SE. I got it brand new in 95 and kept it until fall of 98. Since then I've had a 93 del Sol Si and a 00 Civic Si, and neither one of them can replace my old Integra. I hate that I got rid of it. So now I have a 93 GS-R. I bought it wrecked with no engine and it's been a kinda long project, but it's almost finished now. I bought it because I got it dirt cheap and the damage was minor. I bought a B17A from another 93 GS-R and a handfull of bolt-ons, and the car is about to come out of the body shop in a week or so. I hope I like it as much as I loved my G3. Reading your post made me think I will, especially since we feel the same way about 97-01 Preludes. I test drove one before I bought the del Sol, and it wasn't impressive.. it felt lazy.. nothing like a GS-R. But anyways, I really miss my G3 and I hope this G2 pleases me.

Re: G2 - G3 - G4 (PnX-R)
Preludes are pretty fast cars, but they don't feel it. In a gen2, when you are goin fast, you know it. My 93 is an LS, but I've done a fair amount of work to it, pretty soon puttin on a skunk2 intake manifold, maybe go LS-vtec in about a year or so when i decide to rebuild my engine. BTW, anyone ever heard of an OBX exhaust?

I also have a G2. I don't really care for the body styling of the G3 or the G4 for that madder. Love the motors that come in the cars though. The only integras i've owned are G2s its something about the body lines that just drive me crazy
I should have my G2 GS-R back by friday can't wait.

Re: G2 - G3 - G4 (zoomintegra)
I had a '93 LS first (dubbed "TypeC"), then my '97 GSR.
besides obvious differences in trim level (I did have a lot power from my swap though, mwahaahaa), I loved my G2 the best.
I mean, the GSR looked more modern, was more luxorious (again GSR to LS), but there is something that the G2 had that my GSR didn't. The G2 seemed wider and more planted. The suspension on the GSR seemed to push the limits further than that of the LS (I guess that's assumed). The hoodroom is SO much better in the G2, as well as interior space in general (back seat adventures! ). The best part was, I was so unique in the G2. No one really had any fixed up ones, much less hybrids.
I loved my GSR so much when I got it though. It was a good successor to the 2nd gen. I dunno, I love them both!

Re: G2 - G3 - G4 (PnX-R)
I love my G2. And it's staying with me as long as I have any say so in it. It's got the best of both worlds.....the styling of the G2, with the best motor from the G3 (ITR).
At first I didn't like the G3s at all, but they have grown on me. There's just so damn many of them. I feel my car is "one of a kind".

Re: G2 - G3 - G4 (PnX-R)
I do like the G2 over the G3 also...mainly because of the front headlight treatment on the G3's. I also like the more angular lines of the G2. I wouldn't mind having a G3 Type R though. Right now my '90 GS is undergoing a metamorphosis into a SOLO II race only car which should end up weighing close to 2,000 lbs - if not under 2,000lbs. Here's what my plans are for it: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=144654 ...ah the joy of power tools!
And here's a link to what it looked like when I began making it a race car: Race Integra photo album
But ever since I got my Toyota Tacoma I've been spending too much time having fun with it...I think I like it more than my Integra! And now with my tachometer finally wired up I'll get to see the engine having it's fun spinning around (a 5-speed without factory tach....what morons think 5-speed trucks don't need tachs while the automatic ones do...). I used to hate trucks, and never envisioned myself getting one, but when I decided to convert the Integra to a race prepared vehicle I ended up getting it...and i don't regret it. Well, I'm thinking that I would have gotten a WRX if I didn't plan on keeping the Integra, but I just can't get rid of the G2 Integra like that - it's a part of me now.

Re: G2 - G3 - G4 (GM2000ITR)
I've got to say I love the G3's myself. Having an 89 Camry for 5 years, the G2 is just too similar in some ways to my old car. Automatic seat belt crap for one thing. I don't really like the dash of the G2 at all. I like the G3 interior way better. And whether the 4 round headlights look better or worse, the fact is that 9004 bulbs used in G2's suck royal **** (had those in my Camry, too). I love my 9005 Silverstars in the G3 projectors. I've always been a fan of projector headlights.
*edit* oh yeah I don't like the sideways muffler, either. mostly just trivial stuff I don't like about the G2's. Overall it looks alright.

I've got a G2 GS-R myself, and I will never sell it. It is an Integra classic. There are no blindspots at all. The low cowl design is awesome. Most importantly that awesome VTEC engine. It never gets old, every time I hit 5600 rpms its a whole new experience. Long live the G2!
PS: About the complaint about the 9004 headlights. The JDM headlights with the Jh4 bulb are great lights. A easy upgrade over the USDM lights.

Well I like both. My brother has a G2 hybrid and I have a G3 stock(but not for long). The G2 has a more race feel to it than my G3, and his seems to handle better too. I like the looks of both, but have always like some of the parts they make for the G3 better.

Re: G2 - G3 - G4 (H22g2Integra)
I own a g2. 91'Teg Rs. Ive done alot to the motor though. Havent taken it to the track yet on acount of computer problems i think. Noone seems to know for sure. Anyway i love my car more than any other item ive owned. Im going to hang on to it till i can find a manual G2 for my all out project car. My first ride the 91'Civic hb made me a honda owner for life and the G2 Integra has driven the import performance addiction virus into my brain. Did i mention i love my g2?

Re: G2 - G3 - G4
does anyone have a definitive answer to which chassis is heavier? a g2 gsr vs. a g3 gsr? i have a g2 & it seems pretty overweight to me...
and no one has mentioned the g2's cramped engine compartment. i have had to do many modifications just to get my custom turbo setup to fit, including deletion of my a/c, switching to a delsol vtec radiator, & a custom battery setup.
don't get me wrong, i still love the g2 looks & overall design, but there's a reason it is very rare to see one on the road in a high state of tune.

According to my Acura brochures the G3 GSR weighs 2667 lbs. The G2 GS-R weighs 2643 lbs. Not that big of a weight difference. The weight distribution is a little more different. The G3 GSR has a 64/36, and the G2 GSR has a more balanced 61/39.

Re: G2 - G3 - G4 (HONDAF1)
I bought my DA-6 in 96' for 10000 with 38K. Nice stock Black 93 GS with the ivory interior, I did the normal mods and promptly blew the motor in 99'. I installed a B18C5 complete with Hydraulic LSD tranny and OBD2 ECU. It was unique, it was fast and it was payed off.
I have since become onew of the fastest integras in my state and the only G2 in Utah with a Hy-tech header and a JUN head package on a B18C5.
Being unique kicks ***.

G2 integras are so much cooler especially if they have a H22 motor in it.

Re: G2 - G3 - G4 (PnX-R)
I would take the G2 GSR over the G3 GSR anyday - the only problem I've been having is aftermarket support. Although pretty much everything is available for the b17a, it is much easier to get stuff for the b18c, and there is a much wider selection. For example, I bought Eagle rods over a month ago from Importparts and when putting my engine back together last week, found out they were the wrong size. Ben was convinced they were the right ones, but they were definately too long. Turns out Eagle doesn't even make rods for the b17a, and now I'm waiting on Crower rods that are twice as expansive.

Re: G2 - G3 - G4 (Brian_92GSR)
I mine. I have never ridden in a G3, but I have always liked them. I will be using mine for autox, and later for some track events. 168,xxx and running strong.
BTW, I know what you mean by cramped engine bay.
Edit- It seems like the LS Special is about as rare as the GSR, so I guess I'm proud of that too.
