Default centerforce. . . . clutchmasters ???

I'm in the market for a new clutch. I notice almost everyone on this board gets an exedy or a clutchnet for some reason. I'm looking into a clutchmasters stage 3 or a centerforce dual friction. Does anybody know how these are. I've heard from some miata owners that the centerforce doesn't hold up well. I might consider an ACT, but after driving my friend's ACT xtreme last night, I feel like my whole leg is numb. There's got to be a clutch out there with great holding power and not so great pedal stiffness. . . By the way, the flywheel will more than likely be a toda cromoly one.
