seems like this thread is dead but with all due respect this does work... drill your main holes for the headgasket bigger than holes in the gasket its self and then just drill smaller holes about .5 inches apart like on abes or darton sleeves in pics. i filled mine with devcon up to the water pump hole then after that dried i filled with salt to a little above the water pump hole then filled to about .5 inch to the top with the devcon since the top of the sleeve is where all the heat transfer takes place. theres a dyno pull on you tube tuned by phearable.net making 536 with this same set up as i am making 478 @ 21psi and have been for over 1.5 years now...daily driven..

after killing off an hour of my life (dont feel bad, i wasnt doing anything anyways), i can sum this thread up in 4 posts...."i filled my block, it should work"..."i dont think it will work any better than a block guard, but it might"...."i cracked all my sleeves under 20+lbs of boost"...."so will it work, maybe, maybe not"...there, i saved everyone a ton of reading without all the weird drama and break up stories.

I had and idea and want to know if anyone has tried it. I was thinking instead of making a block guard with the Devcon could you make block posts like the ones Edyne sells?
I like to block posts here:
http://www.theoldone.com/components/..._post_kits.htm
but I don't like drilling and taping the block. I was thinking just fill the salt lower build it up on the sides maybe use wax paper or something to get a "U" to fill in with Devcon.
I have searched but have not found any info.

I never understood why doubters would swarm to this topic. They're the worst of all people in my opinion. They have no definate stance, or their stance is for something they feel comfortable with and they lash out at any susggested change to their complacent system. That is until somebody blatantly prove's to them that a new system is better, or worthy, or their use. Then the cycle continues.
I am not saying that having doubt is a bad thing, its a cautionary measure we all have, but don't live in it or perscribe to it.
Anywho I'll be Devcon'ing my b18 too soon after I get my machine work done. I'm only shooting for 330HP-ish, but that will probably be the last engine mod I commit to for a while. I'm pretty sure that it will hold.

Yes, I am bumping this from the dead. Just did this today. I was not able to level it perfectly, but its alright, I will be taking a file to the high points once its cured, and I will be drilling some holes like the op did, but I will do a few more for extra cooling. Worked out pretty well.

I did one last month using the devcon f2. I must say that flushing all the salt was a pita! I wanted to make sure every little bit got out. However for prep I used a 1/2" "bottle brush" on the end of a drill and it worked great. The end result looks really good and really promising. The sleeves are now the least of my worries on this fun for cheap build... the cast nippon turbo pistons at over 500 hp are what I'm worried about!

You should always get the block bored/honed afterwards. I know in the moroso concrete kit it says that in the directions but obviously here we've used some stuff that doesn't have any directions since it can theoretically be for whatever.

BUMP...LOL
I have a DIY filled block..
700WHP and cylinder #2 has coolant in it..Head will be taken apart tomorrow.
Cracked sleeves or maybe just blown head gasket.
I hope its a head gasket so I can see how far much further I'm able to take it.
I'll take pics and post it soon..!
