In case anyone is interested - just got some news from Meyer Honda in O'Fallon, IL. I took my 95LX in to see if their high speed tech could figure out why my SRS light was not resetting, and therefore could not flash any codes either. After an hour of messing with it they told me that there was a recall on the SRS units from a % of the cars from 1995 - and I might be eligible for a new unit. I thought - no F'n way are they going to throw me a bone on a 95 Accord with 167K miles. Turns out - there was a recall, and my car is one of the bad ones. They are replacing my SRS unit with a brand new unit 100% on the house - "under warranty." If the SRS light stays on after that - then we go to plan b. But for now - I'm happy. Check the recall out - must be legit.

Okay - final post on this for me (hopefully). Recall was 96-061. That is right, an 18 year old recall. Okay, I'll take it. They replaced part # 06772-SV4-308 and the SRS light went out. No further error codes. Car has a clean bill of health. $0.00 charge. I kinda feel like a puss for taking this to Honda - but glad I did based on the outcome...

The information about Honda's recall on 1995 cars was initially encouraging, because my '95 Accord EX wagon has had a recurring problem with the SRS light being on. The first time the SRS light came on, the car was under warranty and the problem was corrected by the dealer at no cost. The second time the light came on it was not covered by warranty, and I paid about $700 to have the dealer correct it. The light has now come back on for a third time. When I called the Ed Martin Honda dealer in Indianapolis, he told be my vehicle, because of its V.I.N. (1HGCE1893SA003044) was not recalled. Can this be true, or is he trying to b.s. me?

My research has shown me that it could be true, so they may not be b.s.ing you. The Accords from 1995 came with one of two SRS "brains". My Accord was an EARLY manufacture (I first bought in early Dec 1994), and was built with PN 06772-SV4-308 (the recalled part). If yours was a later build, then it probably had the "non-recalled" part (of which, I don't have the PN handy). Most dealers are happy to do warranty work, because essentially it is easy work for high profit (from the mothership). So if they told you it was not part of recall 96-061, then it probably wasn't.

Just adding my experience to help anyone else still having a similar SRS light issue. I have a '97 UK 2.2 Accord (Aerodeck / Wagon for what it's worth). The SRS light came on a few days ago for no apparent reason, and to be brief, following the guide posted on page 2 worked first time in resetting the fault.
For info, the MES connector in my RHD car was on the drivers side, connected to a dummy connector just above the footwell fuse box. It had two grey wires as described earlier, the SRS loom appears to be a complete mirror of the LHD system shown in the manual.

U can allways kill the signal with a resistor , run OhM meter.

Which doesn't fix the issue and may cause more damage in the event of an accident...

The only time I'd toss the resistor in (I wrote a tutorial on it even) is for an aftermarket steering wheel without an airbag where you'd want the rest of the SRS system to function.
