but it is labeled not by the insurance company but by the manufacturer, and other sorcers which would deem it to be so

mine is considered a coupe. it was the same charge after i switched cars from Del Sol to Accord Coupe. so i believe it is only considered a coupe. i bought another del sol and sold the accord coupe, and it's the same charge!

if u have just liability it dosent matter if its a 65 car or a 2005 benz your insurance would be the same. now if your getting full coverage its a different story. Thats the way it is with my insurance any way. But to answer your Q i think the Del Sol would be a sports car.

the 's' models are not considered sports cars. I can't speak for the si and vtec models though.

depends on the model mainly, and how many other cars you have. i have a delsol vtec and another car on my insurance, 50 bucks a month full coverage

My insurance doesnt consider it a 'sports car' per sey (esp since its an S) but they did say the rate is a tad higher since it's not a 2+2 (aka insurance seat).
Either way it costs me like 550/every 6mo for full coverage on a 500 dollar deductable.
Car is red.

state farm labels mine as a sports car, reason - no back seats and targa top.

Goes by the motor. After they consider a 2 door, it goes by motor. The S is cheaper than the Si, The VTEC is more than the Si. But overall insurance is cheap on the del sol.
