Isn't .100 quite a bit of material to be taking off of a rods small end?

guess not... we made good power... ~220hp with a ebay header and a stock head with bent valves.

Hey guys,I have been using the pistons with Eagle ESP rods with no issues at all.I have logged 7k miles on the engine already.Im running 10lbs of boost,I did no machine work at all.Cleaned the cylinder walls with a shop rag and brake cleaner, used the supplied rings, and put all new brown rod bearings in from Honda.I was going to make a thread, but been way to busy at work....sorry

care to elaborate? They fit like ****, what they don't fit in the box well, you put them in backwards and they don't fit cuz the valve reliefs were "wrong", what?...

you guys are funny... those pistons bent the exhaust valves, putting pistons in backwards dosnt bend the exhaust valves also.. fit like **** could also have to do with the rod pocket being too narrow, hell the pins didnt fit the rods well at all, we had to hone out the small end of the rod so the pin would fit. what else... the supplied rings wouldnt fit in the pistons, we had to use the the rings that came out of the motor ... (yeah we reused 80k mile rings).

tyler... im almost suprised you are making that much power w/o problems, when we asked about some low comp pistons, they told me that these things werent good for anymore than 125hp per piston.

i would think the rods would be a big part in holding boost... so if you upgrade to eagle or to a rod the fit the stock piston and the right air fuel i couldn't see why not running 18lbs compression might be come a issue???? i know the temp should raise also but it will depend on how much the stock pistons can hold temp wise.

I just tuned a good friends car to 19-20 psi and he made 360 with a 2 inch downpipe. BONE STOCK H22 LONGBLOCK.... Using an apexi power fc, showing zero knock

It's not the rods that are weak from the factory, it's the pistons. The ringlands are really weak and crack easily under high power levels.

No modification was necessary. The guy I spoke to was aware of the HT posts documenting the problems with the pistons. They told me those were old pieces that were designed off of a piston that they thought was stock, but was not. They told me they had fixed those problems already.

I've run 30 psi, so far..... Ran 10.38 @ 144 mph last weekend in Pomona. My best mph ever. You guys wouldn't believe me if I told you what was in this motor.
