I took my accord to sears 3 days ago to have cv joints and drive axles replaced. Today I drove and it wouldn't go in to gear, no park, reverse, drive and so on. I jacked it up to check the shift cable, everything was intact. Both drive axles spin freely when turning the tires. Could this problem be directly related to the cv joint work I had done? What is the next step I can take in troubleshooting?

It was my understanding that Sears was legally forbidden to perform vehicle repairs (other than what they sell) by an FTC ruling, due to customer complaints of selling unneeded repairs. (several years ago)
Anyway, you may have found the one store which does differently.

yes, I suspect it's directly a result of the repairs SEARS performed. If they nicked a diff output shaft seal, and you lost fluid over several days, there's why the tranny no goes.
Call them up, and give them a chance to make good. But mention the next step is the Honda Dealership if they give you any trouble, or a call to the FTC and your State's Attorney General's office.
