Really hard to shift -stiff- tranny on 01 base
it's a 99 lude, base , stock tranny. I got it 8 months ago, no problems then but for the last 2 weeks it grinds really easy. I got 101k on it, clutch is kinda low, is it time to replace clutch?, could it be anything else? do you guys think just a fluid change would do it?
sorry moderators, i tried searching it but found no topics about it

It could be a lot of things.....
I say, if the clutch is almost gone, replace it.....
If that doesn't work - take out the tranny and check:
Shift fork
bearing
check the gears for wear patterns
then check the synchros and sleeves
Make sure you don't make a synchro fall apart - because its a bitch to get back together - because you won't find the little springs and *****.
If you don't know much about it, pay someone to work on it. It will be well worth it. Trust. I won't ever touch my trans - although i know a little about them.

Is it grinding only on shifting up to one or two gears? Is it grinding when shifting down to the same gears, if so?

Re: (marcaobr)
there are two bolts...the top one is the fill bolt and the bottom one is the drain bolt. First, remove the top bolt, then remove the bottom bolt and have a pan under to catch the fluid. Once fully drained, tighten the bottom bolt back up and fill through the top bolt until it starts to top off. (you will need a long thing funnel and raise the car evenly by using four jackstands). Once the fluid is topped off, tighten the top bolt. Run the car through every gear with your foot on the clutch to get the fluids going. Speaking of which, I have to replace mine tomorrow. OH and remember use only Honda Manual Transmission Fluid.
