I think the preferred tool is a c clamp but you should be able to just push it down with pliers or something.

you should have gotten some grease with your pads to put between the metal shims. You need a repair manual for the specifics but I think you have to put the grease on both sides of one shim and one side of the other. btw you may have to turn the piston clockwise while pushing it in for the rear calliper (emergency brake thing), it's hard to push in, I know, but you can do it.
Another important thing is to just take one side apart completly, so you can refer to the opposite side in case you forget how it goes back together.

Not between the pads and rotor, between the metal shims. If you get honda pads they come with the grease and instructions on where to put it.

uuuh of course not between the ****** brakes and the roter that would defeate the perpose of brakes, but why would you grease the shims i really dont know?

It didn't say why in the directions but I think it was so the pads could move float around inside the calliper and not bind up. maybe so they wouldn't rattle. your guess is as good as mine.

If we are talking about the same grease it goes between the back of the brake pad and the shim. This is to limit the squeeling you will get if the pad just moves around a bit inside the shim which it most certainly will do.
