A faulty airbag. I know that in my EG, if I disconnect the airbag, the light will stay on. Have you recently removed your airbag to take off the steering wheel and forget to plug it back in. Kind of a dumb question, but we'll start here.

there are plugs under the seats as well. also unplugging any airbag related plugs with battery connected = srs light.

im having the same issue with my 97...
it came on a few days after i bought the car...
how do you tell if the airbag deployed and you have the dummy covers?
both srs covers are clean.. (not all mangled and replaced looking) the steering wheel feels like it has the bag under it but ive never felt the dummy cover so i dont know the difference...

How can that be guys. Remember I didn't touch any plug related to the airbags or removed anything at all. Could it be the fuse, if there's one?
I checked the wiring under the steering column, all plugs and wiring are secured.
I guess Im gonna have to go with resetting procedure that i saw in this forum.
I just afraid that If I do reset and the light goes away, the problem may still exist and the air bags might not deploy if i get into an accident. Resetting it just leads the car into thinking that its OK and happy with the damn light not lit.

first thing you should check is your battery if it is getting weak it WILL cause the light to come on ... i have seen it many times ... also battery acid on the terminals will also cause this ... if this is the case just use boiling hot water to pour on the acid and it will melt away ....
you shoud check the code and see what it is saying ... usually you can just clear it and if it comes on again then change what it says is bad ..

Re: What would cause the SRS light to come on steady - 00'' si ??? (Stripped Honda)
ive got a brand new battery on and i had to pull codes 2 weeks ago for a o2 sensor problem...
it shoulda came up then, but i got nothing...
my srs is connected in the steering column.
could it just be a wiring problem from when my head unit was installed?
(not trying to jack the thread... just having almost the same issue)

my srs light is on. (well, it should be, the guy who sold it to me unplugged it from behind the cluster... buyer beware right?)
anyway, i notcied a couple days after i bought it, the seatbelt plug under the driver seat was unplugged. I plugged it back in, would the SRS light still be on until it was reset? I think imma give the reset a shot this weekend, when I get my clock in so i don't have to take the panel off twice over the weekend.

you dont need to take the pannel off to reset the airbag light .... just need to jump the wires in the right sequence

Why dont you check the trouble code before you reset the light?

No, it just erases the stored trouble code from memory. If there's still a problem the light is going to come right back on as soon as the control unit sees it.
