anyone know of a bike that uses a different method than the popular spring as shown in the picture? The spring is getting in they way of my exhaust.

not really... there is a center stand method, and there is also a center stand method that articulates from the rear axle. Both of those have not been used in a long time even though they are both valid but add weight and complexity.

I dont know of another way off hand to keep the stand in the upright position that would be 100% reliable.

lame... I think there is room to put the spring on the outside. I didn't want to but i may not have a choice. I really want my exhaust routed through that space.
