stg 3 and stg 5 is talking about the exhaust wheel its no the compressor wheels.
stg 5 is larger wheels 2.795" inducer compared ot the std stg3 wheel which is 2.559" inducer
stg 5 will hold more power vs stg3 and flow more

how does that go in trims though.
I never understood the stages.
You got P trim, Q Trim, O trim, etc .
Is a P trim a stage 5 and O trim maybe stage 3?
too many damn options these days

Pretty much what he said....Stage 5 or 3...... turbine wheel will effect when the turbo begins to make boost but more importantly how much more power the turbo can make.3 is obviously smaller than 5
stage 3 is standard on all newer garett turbochargers...stage 5 is usually good for about 30whp more, also more lag
o,p,q,gt,gtq....are T-4 terms
T3 turbochargers do come with the option of a p-trim which basically makes it react like a T4 o trim..
Hope i helped.

Can you guys give an example of how the boost pattern might look? or how much power? Or is it just the larger wheel will make more power but it will have slightly more lag? Also does the stg wheel have anything to do at all with the turbine outlet size? can either stg wheel be had with either 2.5" or 3" outlet sizes?
TIA

Re: (Civicman86)
about 500-800 rpm's....even bigger gap between STG5 and Ptrim....
is this car daily driven???
What kind of budget are you on??
Answer these questions, it will help you better understand what you need.
Also for a street driven honda i like stage 3, more responsive/usable....unless your looking to max the potential of your turbo i would just go stg3

Well put i curentlly run stg 5 on my dsm and it is a ton better on top end then stg3 wheel but the diff is about 500rpm's spool.
